I wouldn’t normally think to take the time to review a Walgreens. I’ve been to this location many times and never had a bad experience. But someone there really helped me out and I wanted to take the time to say thank you. On Christmas Eve I was in Grand Rapids with family and we were in need of some emergency medication. It was after 5 PM and even though nothing online said those stores would be closing early.. (they didn’t show holiday hours) we found out too late that every nearby Walgreens was closed. I was calling forever trying to get a hold of a local Walgreens or someone from the national service to get some information. I drove back to Muskegon that night and found that this location was open and we were able to get the prescription transferred. Not only that but someone actually picked up the phone and on Christmas Eve no less to assure me that yes they were open (because it was treacherous to drive over there with the weather conditions.) I was able to pick up a prescription that I needed that night. And the following day my family had another emergency after 5 PM and again everywhere was closed near them. I called this location on Apple, and was able to speak to someone from the pharmacy. I apologized for bothering them on Christmas day, but explained my situation. I didn’t get his name but the gentleman that answered was very kind and took down my parents ZIP Code, and then found me the closest open store about 11 miles away from them. It didn’t have anything to do with their store, but he seemed happy to help. I was in a very emotional state and was so grateful for the excellent customer service. My family was so grateful too....
Read moreI do not like walgreen's on apple ave and quarterline in Muskegon MI for several reasons. If they do not have a med in stock, they say they will order it but never call you back to say ok we have it. Do you still need it filled. No, you have to keep checking back with them until it is in stock in 3 yo 5 days and then initiate the refill request. I have told them repeatedly that I do not want auto refill and yet they keep doing it. Usually with meds I have not taken in months. If they have filled a med for me, they will call 3 to 5 times a day to tell me it is ready. After of course making me listen to 2 minutes of their adds before coming to the point. They unilaterally decided that they would not refill my pain med because they felt I was addicted to my it after I had taken it for 4 years. Which is my doctors concern, not theirs. They refuse to contact my doctor fir refills on this pain medication even thu other pharmacies have no problem doing it. I have to call the doctor then them to make sure they recieved it. Even if they did ask for any refill, if they dont get it they will say they have everything ready without trying to contact doctor a second time if missing. We are just suppose to forget about that one. And you have to call dic office the secind time. A good half the staff wears mask ineffectively - shame. And they want to be treated as a member of the med team or you are disrespecing them. How disrespectful OF them. I switched away for years until my new med plan require me to use them or pay much more for my meds. I have complained to my policy but they dont listen...
Read moreI'm sorry to complain but every single time I check out at this particular Walgreens, an employee named Ruth has been extremely rude & impatient with every customer I've observed her waiting on, including myself. (& I know exactly what I'm doing full time) I was in line behind an older woman who didn't know how to tap her credit card on the machine & not only was Ruth quite unhelpful in this matter but she was very short & openly rude to this woman; Ruth rolled her eyes several times as she sighed loudly enough for all in line to hear very clearly. She was obviously irritated by the fact that the woman wasn't familiar with her new credit card chip as well as a bit older & understandably confused by the 'tap' technology. I felt terrible for the woman who was quite embarrassed due to Ruth's poor attitude so I took the time & patience to explain the cards chip & how to tap to check out to her. Ruth has absolutely no business working with customers. I would not put Ruth on blast for just 1 or 2 small instances of poor customer service; she's been rude every time I've been in this Walgreens & I shop there probably at least twice a week. The rest of the staff are absolutely fantastic, friendly & always...
