NEVER would I EVER step foot in this establishment again. My family and I decided to dine out this evening, and my mother in law suggested we go here. We received great customer service the moment we walked through the door. The employee who took our order was extremely courteous and helpful. We received our food in a timely manner. Both the employee who took our order and the manager came out to check on us. Food was delicious. After our meal, we decided to try their custard. It was okay, nothing to write home about. As we were sitting there enjoying our dessert, a gentleman approaches our table (which consisted of my mother, mother-in-law, grandmother-in-law, my 7 year old daughter, and myself) asking if we were enjoying our ice cream. We replied yes, and he then said " well you better have...". Okay... We were caught off guard not sure what exactly he meant by this. He then proceeds to ask for our ticket, proof that we PURCHASED the ice cream. Now mind you, the employees BRING it out to your table; so if there was an issue, why didn't he take it up with his staff. I show him my ticket, he says my mistake, and my mother-in-law then expresses how insulted he's now made us feel; accusing us of taking something that wasn't ours. He offers his version of an apology and proceeds to stand over our table. When asked why he felt the need to come over to us his reply was "well it's my restaurant, and I can go where ever I want". Okay, well that's our cue to leave. We stand up to take our trays to the garbage, and the "owner", then decides to act like a decent human being and offers to take our trays. Really?! I have my hand on our trays, he stands extremely way too close to me, and grabs the trays out of my hand. We exit the restaurant and are getting everyone loaded in the vehicles when the "owner" exits the restaurant claiming we left a baby bottle behind. Really?! What 7 year old uses a bottle? We say it isn't ours and he wants to continue the disagreement that had occurred inside, outside. At this point my daughter is upset, grandma is confused, our night out is now ruined, and this "owner" wants to continue to berate us. Still stunned that an "owner" would act this way. FYI - Continue to run your business this way and you'll soon be out...
Read moreFirst time eating BurgerFi. Friends had raved over it saying how great it was. I had seen them around at different times and places and finally had an opportunity to stop. I have to say that overall, the experience did not live up to the hype - at least for this location.
So what was wrong? Well, first, those behind the counter were pretty sad. The two ladies doing the cooking actually looked sad - like they really didn't want to be there. They just kind of moped around while doing the cooking and whatever else they were doing back there.
The person at the counter was no better, but she looked on the verge of mad and was not inviting at all. No smiles or friendly cues from any of them.
The counter person who rang me up seemed to lighten up a little as she handed me my bag and thanked me, so either she was just having a bad day or this is just her persona. Either way, it wouldn't be a place that I'd want to work if that's how all the personnel acted all day.
More importantly, it calls into question the values of BurgerFi and who they're hiring. When you have somebody in the public's eye, you want them to be inviting and friendly at the least. I understand the crisis in finding qualified and valued employees these days, so there may be no real solution here anytime soon. Perhaps everyone was just having a bad day and this was not the norm - I couldn't say.
I will say that the place itself looked very inviting and seemed very clean, so that is refreshing compared to many places that I've been to. It was, however, empty at the time that I came (I was the only customer in the place), so I don't know what it looks like on a day-to-day basis. I assume that they do try to keep it up like that regularly, so kudos to the owner and staff for that.
At the end of the day, I'm not sure that I'll go back because the burger, while marketed to give the impression that it's healthier than many of the choices out there, wasn't anything to write home about and the atmosphere certainly wasn't either.
Sorry BurgerFi, but I have to call it...
Read moreThe food was amazing. If I were just judging on that, I would give it 5 stars. The service was horrible though.
Six of us came here after reading some reviews. It was not busy, maybe 15 people there total. There was at least 5 staff. Maybe a 10 minute wait for our burgers, nothing out of the norm. Got the CEO Burger; it was fantastic! Fries were fresh and plentiful.
After the burgers we ordered custard and milkshakes for dessert. ...and then it went downhill. It took them over 30 minutes to make 2 milkshakes and 3 custard! 30 minutes!! They made the 3 custards and brought them out in 20 minutes, and said my kids milkshakes would be up shortly. So my kids had to sit there and watch everyone else eat their dessert for 10 minutes before they got theirs. In that 10 minutes, I watched 1 guy trying to make milkshakes and 2 other people behind the counter on their phones and BS'ing. This place was not busy. There was no one ordering. Unless they were milking a cow in the kitcheb, there was zero reasons as to why this should have taken this long. They would drown if there were more than 4 tables that wanted desserts. I wanted to talk to the manager, but didn't want to make a scene. We got thr milkshakes and left. Started awesome, but left with a very sour taste.
As a plus, they have cornhole in the dining room; i played a round with some really nice and polite kids. Their mom should be...
