Let me start with the positive points: *the girls helping out the bridal party are very friendly and accommodating and work very hard to help out * the girls at the front desk and checking out are also pleasant * VERY well priced dresses, I actually paid less than what I expected for my BM's dress.
Now for the problem. The problem is clearly a management issue. It is one of the most disorganized businesses I've gone to in a long time. The bride will get many messages for weeks after everyone's dresses are picked up. When I called to schedule my alteration for an Aug 24th wedding, I thought I was behind the ball calling on June 11th, but the woman at alterations asked when the wedding was and said I shouldn't come in until July 21st because they usually schedule for 4 weeks before the wedding. Came to alteration on 21st as scheduled , was walked back and told to sit on a chair inside the alteration but what then immediately barked at from another employee that someone else was waiting. Just sitting where I was told to sit....After I was done I was told pick up was on August 22 (TWO DAYS BEFORE WEDDING!!!) or I could pay EXTRA for a rush. WHAAAT?? I wanted to come in a month ago to and was advised against it. At check out I was walked up by a very friendly girl but I was told they only had one computer working to check people out. After waiting in line to pay about 20 minutes, the check out girl said the system crashed and she'd have to start that customer over. We left and went next door to shop at Ross until the line died down. I came back in about 30 min later and paid. Two hours later I get a text saying I missed my alteration appointment. So , like I said, friendly and helpful staff and great prices but management is doing a poor job of organizing this place. I will most likely try another DB location for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt is no wonder why theyāre going out of business. I had a wonderful experience trying on, picking, and purchasing my wedding dress. Staff interactions were always very kind and helpful until it was time for alterations. When it came to alterations, nobody was listening to my concerns about how my dress looked and fit. One bra cup is clearly visible where as the other isnāt (my top is sheer with 3D design), thread and strings are poking or coming out of all parts of the dress (after alterations, not before), and when I was concerned about the tightness I was told it canāt be let out. Truly the most upsetting part was how at the initial and follow up alteration appointment I repeatedly pointed out the visible (and tacky looking) bra cup and kept being told āitās fine. Itās part of the dress. It has to be there.ā I said I didnāt want the bra cup visible and asked if thereās sheerer cups or if we can do no cups at all and I was essentially told no. I paid more for alterations than the actual dress, just for me to now be unhappy with how my dress looks when I loved it at my initial fittings and purchasing. Will now be taking it to a private seamstress, two months before my wedding, who is willing to listen to my concerns and fix what Davidās Bridal has now screwed up. Had I known this would be the experience I would have gone with a private seamstress to begin with, and avoided this disappointing experience.
Update: will have to go back in, because after taking my dress home I now notice blue markings all along the hem...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreChenise Lewis at David's Bridal in Naperville, IL is an AWESOME young lady to work with!! We have been to the store twice and on both occasions, Chenise has helped me and my daughters with dresses for upcoming, "fancy" events. She is very personable and is genuinely concerned you find what you are looking for. Chenise helped my younger daughter with her dress for Marmion's Salute to Youth (the requirements for the dress are challenging), but she pulled through for us and even managed to have the dress pinned the same day so we could have it altered. Mara, was also instrumental in helping me over the phone find and pull the sizes of the dress for our appointment. She made sure the dresses were in the store and held for us until our visit. Chenise and Mara have tremendous customer service skills and I highly recommend working with them and appreciate their time and dedication!! The seamstress (Lily) that pinned my daughter's dress was phenomenal. She was so kind and attentive to every detail. Lily even recommended the straps on the dress be lined as they were shear and per the dress requirements, you weren't to "see through" any part of the dress. So we played it safe and had them lined. I was honestly concerned about going to David's Bridal thinking we would have a mediocre experience. I think we were pleasantly surprised by the staff interactions we had with Chenise, Mara, and Lily. I would return to David's Bridal in Naperville...providing Chenise would...
