Forgettable
Every Thai food restaurant makes curry like this. There is nothing special about this and maybe I am reaching out blindly but for $45 and change, I got a foam to go container that has the curry in it, a drenched and now soggy egg roll and clumpy rice.
Who just dumps curry into a foam container? If it’s hot enough, that curry will melt the foam and then the eater could get sick from the chemicals in the foam. Just put it in a plastic to go container like everyone else.
The curry Oh man, this thing was loaded with bell peppers. Now I asked for medium and got medium spice so there is no complaint there. I also have no complaints about the taste of the food but if I wanted vegetable soup I would have asked for it. The meat chunks were ok but they were too big. A bit over cooked too and chewy. I couldn’t finish it because the bell peppers were grinding my throat on the way down, that’s how raw they were.
Overall, a three star review I think is fair. It could be worse but it also could be better. Way way better for the money. And that $45 and change? That’s a...
Read moreSmall, family owned restaurant billing itself as a street food cafe. They offer dine and and take-out. The dining room is small with 4 tables of 4 (8 tables of 2), but they offer table service. Service was friendly and prompt. They offer a variety of Thai dishes. I went there for lunch, so was a little less adventurous than normal. For appetizer, had the Laab, which was quite flavorful, and even had cruchy fried rice bits in it. For the main course, I had the Red Curry lunch special with chicken. As a lunch special, this came with a bowl of soup and an appetizer (a rich chicken broth with rice, and, a cream cheese stuffed wonton wrapper, fried with sweet/spicy red sauce). All the food was made to order and fresh. The requested level of spiciness requested for each dish was perfect. Would highly recommend, and will be back. The rest room was clean, as was the visible parts of the kitchen. BTW, they had a frequent customer program, so be sure to request your customer card. Highly...
Read moreThis place is a hidden gem in South Florida for Thai cuisine. It is a little out of the way but the food was so amazing, I'd drive 2 hours from Miami to eat there.
Service: the waiter (maybe the son?) was super sweet and explained things very well. He always wore a mask and did a great job bringing out the food.
Facility: the place is very clean, they have hand sanitizer available, and there is outdoor seating.
Food: THIS IS THE REASON TO COME HERE. I ate the left over crispy duck(i didn't take a photo because we were chomping away) and a day later it was still crispy and tasty. This is the first place to serve sticky rice in the traditional bamboo steamers that was my daily staple in Isaan.
Pricing: Some el cheapos will look at the price and think it is on the high end, but based on the portion sizes and mostly based on the quality of the food it is more than worth what we paid.
Khop chai lai lai for this...
