Half Price Books — Local services in Nashville-Davidson

We have these all over back in Texas where I'm from, and I was so excited when I saw they were opening one here. I was very disappointed with the only store I knew of around here that did buy and resell books, and The difference between them and Half Price Books has been a night and day. They have a great selection that's also very well organized making things easy to find. They also have areas for rare books or valuable first editions and things like that. All the books were also in very good condition as well. When they didn't have a book I was looking for in stock after talking to someone on staff they happily took the time to locate and order me that book for me. The staff was very kind, quite knowledgeable, and very much seemed to take pride in their work. The pricing on their books in my opinion is more than fair if not on the cheap side. Cool used bookstore in Nashville! This is a chain but this is the only location in Tennessee. We stopped by here for the 1st time yesterday and I was surprised with how big it is! They have a huge selection of used and new books for everyone age and genre along with puzzles, games, cards, gifts, cd, dvds, and records! They also have a buying desk in the back where you can sell your used books. True to their "half price" books name the books can still be quite pricey for used, since they go off the publishers price and hardback were still around $10-13. But they did have a nice clearance section and a few sale display tables in the front and outside too. An interesting place to be sure, its future so bright you have to wear shades! No really this place is lit up like the sun. The lighting will actually hurt your eyes though that means you can see everything in crisp clear detail. As the name states they are a bookstore but with a lot more. From comic books, to retro and current video games, a small selection of toys and a large selection of children's books and games including puzzles, half price books has a great assortment. You will also find under the bright blinding lighting dungeons & dragons and other role-playing gaming modules, cards, and a whole lot of mugs!
