Mark Huth made the car buying experience great! He was honest and transparent, making sure I was confident in my new purchase. Highly recommend you buy through Russ Darrow and work with Mark in the Neenah location!
UPDATE: I am, to say the least, disappointed with the sales man and Russ Darrow. When I purchased the car I asked if they could fill up the gas tank as it had only 30 miles left. I was told âI can fill it up, if you give me a 5 star review.â Which I did, because at the time I thought I received great service. It should have been a bad sign when I drove off the lot and it was only filled 3/4 of the wayâŚ..
My issues and reason for the updated 1 star review: When I test drove- loved the car. Had cranked the wheel when we got back to check the tread and pointed out there was a screw sticking out of the tire. Also noted the driver side side-mirror was very loose. Was told by Mark he would have service take a look and call me in the morning. Next morning- received a call from Mark that the car was seen by service and they repaired the tire and tightened the side mirror. When I arrived back at the dealership I took it for another ride. Side-mirror appeared to have been repaired and Mark showed me the broken-in-half screw which he assured it didnât puncture, it only got stuck between the lugs. While we discussed the cost and next steps, I asked if it came with a spare key and, if not, if I could get one. To which he told me âIâll check, we can certainly get you all set up.â I completed the paperwork and paid. When he brought me the keys I noted there was not a spare, he told me I could purchase one on eBay and program it myself rather than come back. That it in fact âwas easy to program yourself, I did mine myselfâ is what he told me. I took his word for it and ordered a $25 key, the same one he pulled up on his computer and said was the one. 5 days later, after their return policy expires, I was driving around all excited about my new purchase! Suddenly my low tire pressure indicator turned on; It was the same tire I was assured was not punctured by the screw. I had to get the tire plugged. When my spare key came in, I took to the internet to program it and quickly realized I would be unable to do it myself. A dealership or locksmith would need to. I made a few attempts, 8/15 and 8/23 2x, to contact Russ Darrow and talk to Mark. Was always sent to his voicemail. Mark instead of calling me, texted me a very vague text in response to my voicemail basically saying I was incorrect and his past customers just Google programming a key fob.
I called vans Honda who informed me that a dealer would need to program the key, that I could not do it myself, and a spare key is going to run me over $395. He actually laughed when I told him I was informed I could do it myself. He also informed me that the shakey side-mirror, cannot t be tightened. It needs to be replaced.
I could tell that because the sale process was over, he had no interest in speaking with me even to discuss items we agreed upon before and during the sale. I will never purchase, suggest or visit another...
Read moreWARNING WARNING WARNING **Do not ever trust these peoplethey will lie about everything to get a sale. I bought a vehicle here and have spend more than I paid for the vehicle in repairs. They tell you to buy a warranty from Zurich for a lot of money and then do not stand behind their products!!!!! I bought the vehicle and should have know that the salesman was lying to me. The vehicle "allegedly" passed inspection, and was told by the salesman that they would make sure the airbag light was fixed before I picked up the vehicle. Guess what...it was not and now they want 650 dollars to fix the airbags. The vehicle was making terrible noises 2 months after I purchased it. The vehicle had no oil in it. None of the dash warning lights ever warned me of no oil. The vehicle like I said was purchased 2 months before. I checked the oil and sure enough no oil in it. I took it in and they said " I couldn't tell you why no oil light came on but we need to tear this engine down at a cost of 700 dollars so that Zurich....the warranty would put a new engine in. Zurich denied the claim of course after appealing it was still denied stating that it was :wear and tear". I tried to speak with the Dealership Manager but of course only got his voicemail and had other employees call me back. Weak!!!!! He is to afraid to deal with the customers and complaints because he knows that he is selling junk and warranties that mean nothing. Just beware of these tactics. I am in the process of filing a lemon law claim with the State of Wisconsin, as well as going to the DOT for selling the vehicle without airbags working. I am also in the process of filing a Federal DOT claim for inspection fraud, along with filing a lawsuit against this dealership for unfair and deceiving sales practices. Good thing I have them recorded stating these falsehoods about the airbag being fixed before I picked up the vehicle and also about the warranty "covering anything on the power train" which is what the salesman stated. He said that I would never have to worry because Zurich covers "everything", that is why it is worth the cost. All in all never, I REPEAT never purchase any vehicle or warranty from this dealership. Unless you like being cheated, lied to, disrespected, and taken advantage of and spending more that you purchased the vehicle for!!!!!!!!!!!! RUSS DARROW SHOULD BE...
Read moreBuyer Beware: I recently came in to purchase a vehicle, and experienced predatory lending. First, I was quoted a loan amount for my vehicle including down payment, trade in value, plus tax, title, licensing at the 60 month term I agreed to. I looked it over and agreed to this amount. All prior to any knowledge of my credit report being pulled, or income verified. I was told someone was "preparing my paperwork" BASED OFF OF THIS WRITTEN QUOTE.
Once taken back to sign, we had been there for close to 3 hours, we were told he was able to LOWER my payment. Also, talked in great lengths, taking notes on scrap paper, regarding the free car washes included, certain amount of free oil changes, excellent warranty he was able to extend. He gave me the "Gold Card" and told me I just needed to show it. Also, mentioned I should cancel my towing, road side assistance on car insurance because this was part of what was included with purchasing my vehicle.
Finally, upon signing all paper work- close to 9pm on a week night. I arrived home to take a look at my Bill of Sale. To my surprise, what I was quoted up front- and was told my paperwork was being drawn up for- had been changed. My term went from 60 to 72 month ( a full year of extra interest) As well as $3,000 in total charges for all of the service/ maintenance I was told was included with purchasing from Russ Darrow. None of this is something I ever asked for, or can afford.
To make matters worse, I called immediately and left a message that evening explaining my frustration, asking for my original terms and loan amount. I never received a phone call back regarding the issue. I called the following day and was given excuses that the Manager was in meetings and was unavailable. When I was finally put through to the same person I signed papers with, I was told nothing had been changed. I am beyond disappointed, and now stuck with terms and over $3,000 in costs I was not informed about.
"Predatory lending is any lending practice that imposes unfair or abusive loan terms on a borrower. It is also any practice that convinces a borrower to accept unfair terms through deceptive, coercive, exploitative or unscrupulous actions for a loan that a borrower doesn't need, doesn't want or...
