I placed an order online via the Belk app & almost immediately realized I needed to change the size on 2 out of 3 items. I followed the app instructions the app didn’t work correctly so I tried the chat feature, which froze. Then I tied to cancel the order & start from scratch. That also didn’t work. I called customer service & was disconnected twice & was treated rudely. Then I calked the closest Belk store, 45 min. away & was told it was because I chose Afterpay, which made no sense & that I would just have to wait & get the order or go ahead & place another order & then wait for my refund on the first order, which I can’t afford to do. I spoke with Lee @ Afterpay & they offered to work with Belk’s to remedy the situation & Belk refused, only citing their 30 min. policy. In addition to wasting my entire Saturday on all this, do not need to be wasting all this time with all this because these are Christmas gifts for my grandkids that I have to mail out of state. By the time I tried all the above, the 30 min window of time for making changes or cancelling the order was long past, even though it wasn’t my fault & wholly on Belk’s end. Belk’s was completely unhelpful, rude & unapologetic about the situation. I will have to wait on the order, up to 10 days, travel 45 min away, time I don’t have to waste, in order to get my refund. I will NEVER do business with BELK again, online or in person. MERRY CHRISTMAS, BELK. Oh, & I’ve since read reviews that others have been inconvenienced by the same glitches I...
Read moreI went to this store for the first time today. All around the store there’s 40% off signs everywhere. I bought 2 pumpkin cocottes and a clear glass pumpkin jar. The cocottes were $16 ($9.60 with discount) pumpkin $20 ($12 with discount) full price. The prices are listed clear as day. I got in line to check out and I asked the cashier to please apply the 40% and she said she would. To my surprise my total came out to $46 and change when it should have been around 35ish with the three items adding up to $31.20 before tax. I asked the lady what the price was of the 74oz glass pumpkin jar and she told me it was $24 after the discount and I thought that couldn’t be right because I saw $20 on it. Now I am home and I search the product online - the same one, but an orange color one that’s available for shipping and it says the price is $12 with the original price $20. So basically this lady charged me $4 more than the full price and then proceeded to lie to my face as I was busy with 3 kiddos when the item should have been $12 after the discount. I don’t even know what she rung up because there is a sticker on the pumpkin with the price on there. Now I will have to return and get this fixed and I am not from the area. The fact that I even questioned it should have alerted her to double check. Make sure y’all check...
Read moreWed., Nov. 5th, I visited the store in New Braunfels, approximately 5:45pm. I entered the ladies' changing room and was disgusted by what I saw. It was quite obvious that the changing room and it's walk-in area had not been cleaned in weeks, if not months. The floor was littered with dust balls, hair, spills, pieces of paper, tissues, foam, plastic numbers, and dirt. I felt skeeved taking off my pants to try on a new pair. I left the room and asked to see a manager. I did not get his name. He did not offer it. I complained about the situation. Thinking he may have taken me seriously, I was quite dismayed to see him a short time later hanging around the shoe floor chit-chatting with multiple staff while be SURROUNDED by more trash on the floor. The carpet was littered, again, with paper, tags, plastic, and dirt. A slew of trash was within 3 feet of where he was standing, and there it stayed. The glass shelves where the shoes were displayed were covered in dust; so much so that when I swiped my hand across one it turned my hand black. One worker strolled around trying to look busy, while the rest of the department gossiped and laughed. I will not...
