Was looking forward to seeing the renovations and treating myself to a movie after a long stressful month. Arrived about 5 minutes in advance of a 10:30 am matinee. Perfect timing to get my tickets and popcorn and find my seat. There were only 3 people in front of me when I arrived. The first two went pretty quick although you pick your seats now so does take a bit more time. Then the person in front of me asked to purchase tickets for and advanced showing of a show that isn't even in the theater yet. Several rows in fact. The ticket agent starts showing her the chart so she can pick the rows she wants. I figured she would go ahead and sell me my ticket, since movies are starting and there is a line of about 5 people forming behind me. But no, she continues to point out the rows. The woman makes her choice and pays with a gift card. She begins to print out the 20 plus tickets as she is talking to the woman about where the gift cards came from (incentive program at work) etc. Tickets are all printed and I figured great I can get my ticket now and still make the show (it's gone a bit past 10:30 at this point) But no, agent continues to chat with the woman about the incentive program at work, how many gift cards did they get, how did it work, will they be doing it again. etc. I'm really biting my tongue at this point. Note she has made eye contact with me and others in the line behind me so she is aware we are there. When a woman behind me finally starts to ask her if she can get some help. At which point I did speak up and mention that the movies were about to start, could she not go ahead and wait on us. She looks up and very rudely states she is trying to sell tickets to this customer. NO, she had already sold tickets to that customer, had a little chit chat and was now going into the process of explaining to her that if for some reason they don't use all the seats they can get a refund and how to do it. Meanwhile it's 10:39 on a movie that was scheduled to start at 10:30. Even if I get my tickets right at that moment I'm going to be rushed to get to my seat. Then it hits me, that the theater in San Marcos has a showing at 12 noon. So I turned and left. I have no idea what the others in the line did.
Note, I worked for many years in customer service. We would never have done anything like that. When offering a time sensitive service, you have to take that into account if you only have one person waiting on the customers. The customer with the advance purchase could very easily have been shown the chart to begin choosing her seats while the others in line that were there to see a movie that morning were sold their tickets to there showing.
If you go to this theater you might want to purchase your tickets in advance. At least if you are going...
Read moreThe managers and workers were extremely rude, and disrespectful at the creekside cinema. To start I went into watch smile 2 with my 3 other friends and they let us into the movie (unknown worker let us in) without even checking our tickets. We came in early and while watching the previews we decided to get some buffalo wings and slushies. As we are walking to the concession areas we smiled at a worker cleaning up, in a joking manner. He began saying snarky comments. Anyway as we paid we were just chatting with some of the workers and then 2 managers (lucy + kylie) Then out of no where 2 (unknown) mangers started yelling at us for being underage??? We never said anything or did anything rude or disrespectful, then they began dissing my parents saying they should’ve never let us out alone and that’s bad parenting. The following experiences weren’t very great either, we were treated like 8 year olds and Lucy was very rude from the beginning of our experience to the end. We gave her compliments and she replied in a rude manner. She was also giving us rude looks the minute we walked in and didn’t make us feel welcome. Kylie was nice in the beginning making us feel welcome and starting conversation then began to tag along with her co-workers being very rude and impolite (not very professional kylie). We began to get kicked out. As a worker yells “yall shouldve never smiled at me.” We had smiled to make his experience and our experience much nicer. How immature can you get? We weren’t the only ones getting treated poorly, there was a young boy around 7 or 8 minding his business just trying to do his business and get some snacks for him and his guardian, when all of a sudden we hear and obnoxious, loud, irritating, grading voice of two managers attacking this young man telling him in a rude manner “get back to your theatre you can’t be out here” out where the bathroom? (he’s only human). There’s also no reason my wings took 45 minutes to make. When we were being asked to leave i had finally gotten handed my wings. Needless to say bad service. Another experience I had was this summer. First of all we were watching twisters in the summer, and it was during the previews, just laughing and cracking jokes. (No one was in the theater and again during the PREVIEWS.) Then we got a warning and was told we would be removed from the theatre in a very disrespectful manner. I recommed to skip the experience at...
Read moreLook, I'll be real with you reader. This theater will probably,be your go to. There isn't any major flaws with it and it's serviceable. The ticket prices are average going price and the snacks are overpriced as the usually are. The place is relatively new with good lighting in individual screen rooms. This means no dark and sticky viewing dungeons. As I've mentioned, nothing really wrong with it and it may be your go to as it's right in the center of a major shopping outlet center.
However, this theater is not my go to as they're certain aspects I don't like about it. One major factor is the seats. Yes, they do recline unlike many theaters, but they are uncomfortable as cheap office chairs. I cannot sit through any feature length film without shifting in my seat multiple times. The speakers are unbalanced and uncalibrated most of the times. I have seen Dunkirk and other action movies where explosions and other low bassy sounds blow out my eardrums and other parts that are directional (an explosion or other event that happens off camera diagonally Northwest, Southeast etc.) where you know a sound is supposed to be playing but is not being heard. I always leave the theater with headaches and ears ringing.
Being conveniently located with shopping outlets and housing might be a plus for most, but it's not for me. Especially when I do have what little time I can get to watch movies on the weekend or holidays... When everyone else gets time off too. Let me just saw long, twisting lines going out the door just for tickets.
Lastly the snacks. They have your normal, limited selection of hotdog, soda, popcorn and popular candy added with ice cream. But I'll be honest. I don't think most people really care because you and I know everyone's favorite pasttime for movie watching is sneaking in snacks.
So TL;DR, nothing glaringly wrong with Creekside, I just don't prefer it for my...
