Bridal Trousseau — Local services in New Haven

When I first got engaged everyone told me that I would visit countless different bridal boutiques, changing my mind a million times. Just like with love, when you find the right one, you stop looking. My mom found Bridal Trousseau online and with it being so close to my parents’ house, we immediately booked an appointment for December I was visiting from Miami for Christmas time and knew this was the perfect time to begin searching for a gown.

The wonderful team at Bridal Trousseau knew I was traveling from out of state to search for the dress, so they lovingly opened their boutique shop entirely for me. When we first turned the corner and saw the glimmering light coming from the Bridal Trousseau storefront I was beyond excited. Their store is something out of Vogue, beyond chic and warming, yet gives off a very prestigious and exclusive vibe. I was welcome with the sweetest sign and glasses of champagne. Mel and Abby were honestly the sweetest people you could ever meet. It felt like I was shopping with my friends with Mel and Abby. On our way to Bridal Trousseau, my mom and I were so nervous, but they immediately put us at ease. I felt so special having the entire store to myself.

I started my gown searching a year and a half in advance, so I luckily I had time on my side. I tried on several gowns that day, but decided to wait to let my emotions from the day simmer. A few months later in July, I again returned to Bridal Trousseau. I tried on the dresses from December and I tried on a few more new gowns, I mean how could you not? That day I finally found the one, a stunning Matthew Christopher gown. Bridal Trousseau was my first and only bridal shop because like I said in the beginning when you find the ONE you know it! The team was so accommodating holding my dress after it came in until I was able to fly from Miami.

Bridal Trousseau is the only place that makes you want to get a divorce, just so you can experience all of the amazingness this store has to offer ;). I cannot thank Bridal Trousseau for making this experience such a magical one. I cannot wait to renew my vows one day and once again shop in your gorgeous boutique.

I just returned from my second visit to BT, where I just purchased my wedding dress. The experience with Vera was flawless from start to finish. Booking my first visit was so easy, and quickly followed by a phone call to confirm and get some details about how best to prepare based on what I’m looking for. Vera was so in tuned to my experience during both visits—I came alone to avoid bringing my mom & sister out in public (during the pandemic) and it really felt like I was shopping with a knowledgeable friend the entire time. Vera experimented with different styles, which gave me a great idea of what worked with my body and made me feel my best. After digesting the styles, I emailed Vera to send photos of some more styles I liked, she called soon after, and set our second visit. During my second visit, I arrived late and was worried that would set the tone for my visit.. I arrived ready to WORK as I didn’t want to keep anyone after closing time. Well.. Vera was ready.. she had a few dresses pulled, and didn’t rush me whatsoever, even though we were about 30 min from closing. The very first dress I tried on from her selection.. was the one. —FaceTimed my mom & sister— and they absolutely loved her selection too.

Now that you’ve made it to the end of my novel.. I’d say the most important takeaway from my experience was that I could tell Vera truly cared about my experience. Within just a few minutes of being there, I knew I’d get my dress at BT, it was just a matter of which...

Thank you so much to BT's team for helping me select the most important dress of my life. I had several bridal appointments lined up for the day, including some bridal salons in NYC, and Bridal Trousseau was the first place we went to look for a dress. I didn't have to look much further after we went to Bridal Trousseau, because there was an incredible amount of dresses to select from and so many beautiful choices. I fell in LOVE with the second dress I tried on. Michelle was my stylist that day and she helped me pick the perfect accessories, including a belt, earrings and a bracelet that I wore on my wedding day. She was very helpful and never pushy. I loved the hand-written thank you note too that she sent after I chose my dress! She made the experience feel so personal. I also got my alterations done through BT and the dress ended up fitting perfectly. A bride can be a little anxious about the alterations leading up to the day, but BT's alteration team came through for me and made me feel gorgeous. Thank you again for all your help BT team. I would definitely recommend making sure you check out BT for your wedding gown and accessories - you won't regret it :) My now husband said he had never seen a more gorgeous bride, so I guess that is the highest compliment a bride could ask for.
