God Save the Qweens — Local services in New Hope

This store claims to be so punk but it’s the complete opposite and feels exclusive and authoritarian. Was intending on spending some bank down in new Hope for my teenage daughter’s wardrobe. Thinking she would love this store, I pushed the door open only to be greeted by a hoarded pile of docs and a stink face from the lady behind the counter. I did not realize that the sign said “one person entry only and 18+” the woman babbled something about this rule I was breaking upon my opening the door and I quickly turned right back around and said “well I can’t just leave my teen on the street by herself” while closing the door. As other reviews have said- I have no clue how the heck this lady is staying in business and definitely check out Thirteen Vintage instead they are so amazingly inclusive, knowledgeable, and just great store owners. We dropped over $200 in there and I felt like walking back to this store like the scene in Pretty Woman and saying “big mistake” but they were closed...

Saturday, December 22, 2018 was my first time entering God Saves the Queens. Upon walking into the store, my eyes darted right towards the same leopard Docs pictured for the store on this page. As I pick them up, MICHELLE, "alarms" me that they are $210.00. I ask the size and she answers that they are a size 8 ( I'm a 7), and not Chinese made, but UK manufactured. Ok...interesting fact I guess. Before I start to shop, she advise me that all Doc Martens in the back are $189.99. I move along to the clothing rack and MICHELLE asks my middle-aged, WHITE male friend why he is carrying such a large bag. His response was " Oh it's my camera bag". MICHELLE disgustingly stated " That's kind of awkward to be carrying around". Once she said this, I tapped my friend on the shoulder and said " She's rude...let's go". Walked down to THIRTEEN VINTAGE where they are pleasant, kind, and not a...

I cannot express to you how condescending and rude the shop owner is. I should’ve known not to enter after my partner and I read the sign announcing that only 1 person was allowed in the store at a time in the harshest possible way. I knew they had a great selection of old docs though and I was looking for a pair, so I went in while he waited outside. I walk in, started looking at the boots and she’s starts in about “they aren’t the same as those made after 2003.” I smiled and said that I know, I collect them myself to convey we had a mutual interest. Apparently she took this as some sort of slight? She snapped at me “good for you.” I was shocked and asked her why she was being rude. Then she just kept repeating “okay bye” and “leave.” It was jarring. This woman is clearly unhinged. There are plenty of other wonderful alt stores in new hope, I’d suggest visiting...
