We’ve been purchasing from George for many years after stumbling upon his shop ten years ago while walking around in New Hope. Not only is he the most talented jeweler we’ve ever met, but the nicest man to boot! My whole family loves him. We’ve had the honor of meeting his daughter too who is also super sweet. Both she and George have gone out of their way to be kind to our son while we look around his store. His pieces have Greek influence (where he’s originally from) but also he has many classic and new wave pieces so there’s something for everyone at his shop! He will also make custom jewelry for you if you share your idea of your vision.
Zikos makes one of a kind pieces and it’s so difficult to pick out something to buy because I want it all! I’ve bought numerous rings, earrings and necklaces from him. I always get complemented whenever I wear his jewelry too. George is extremely honest also. I went in with a picture of a ring and asked him if he could make it. He could of course but also told me that it’s probably not something I would want because the way the diamonds were in the ring would constantly catch on clothes etc. He could have very easily just made the ring and received payment but he would never want his customers to be unhappy so he isn’t afraid to tell you if something won’t work well for you. He’s so proud of his beautiful creations and whenever I go in he says, “Heather, come look at what I just made!” He’s the best and I love him and his work.
As for the two reviews saying he is rude, I think they are bogus and I don’t believe them at all. In all the years I’ve never seen him so much as say an unkind word to anyone, nevermind be rude! He’s the guy who will always have a big smile on his face to greet you and a big hug if you know him too. Last time I went my son and husband were in the car and he walked out of his store just to say hello to them! He’s amazing in all ways. Do yourself a favor and check out his store (although I hate giving away my secret jeweler - I just couldn’t allow someone to tarnish his good name). Also, take some time to ask him about his past and his jewelry...
Read moreWhen my wife and I were getting engaged way back in 1979, we were walking around New Hope and wandered into Zikos Jewelers. We were greeted by George who was so friendly and eager to help us. We were looking for an engagement ring for her and wedding rings for us both. We were looking for something beautiful and unique. Not the usual stuff you'd find at Zales or any of the mall jewelry stores. He showed us the most unique rings we had ever seen. He explained to us that there were only two of these sets in the world. One in yellow gold and one in white gold. He had just taken them to a jewelry show in Paris where they won first place. They were his own design and creation. My fiancé ( now my wife of 44 years) fell in love with them immediately. I said OK, I'll think about it. The next day, my fiancée thought I was at work, but I had secretly taken the day off to make the long drive from central New Jersey back to New Hope,PA. I told George that id love to buy them but I didn't have the cash. I believe they were $1,000.00 at the time. ( that was big bucks back then). He said î could make weekly payments until î pay them off. So for 10 weeks î would drive to New Hope every Saturday and plunk down $100.00. Over the years we've gotten so many complements on our wedding rings. About 5 years ago, my wife and I decided to take a drive to New Hope. We hadn't been there in many years. We found Zikos Jewels still there. Just in a different local. To our amazement, George was still there! Even more amazing, he recognized my wife and I immediately? After Almost 40 years! We showed him our rings and how people compliment us on them everywhere where go. He was very pleased. I highly recommend Zikos Jewelers and George Zikos to anyone looking for anyone looking for high quality jewelry that you won't see every other person wearing. And do say hello to George for me. We live in Delaware now. We'll have to take a drive to...
Read moreMy wife and I have been together since senior year in High School (1980) and we've been married for 33 years. I bought her a beautiful engagement / wedding ring that, over time, had needed to have some work done to it. Each time she would take it to a local, reputable, jeweler she would be so disappointed in the results, sometimes to the point of tears. We love coming to the New Hope / Lambertville area and on one such trip we stopped into Zikos. Georgios' lovely daughter was in the shop and we told her our predicament. She suggested that we come back again when Georgios was there and she was sure he could fix her ring. A few weeks later we stopped by and he could not have been nicer. He assured us that he could repair the ring and we would be in love with the result. He asked for a small deposit and said he would have it done in 5 weeks. Three weeks later we received a call telling us that the ring was done. We drove to New Hope later that week and, to say we were thrilled would be an understatement. The ring looked like the day I proposed to my wife and the diamond never shined so bright. I even got a piece of dust in my eye (wink, wink) when I saw the ring and how happy my wife was. Georgios is a true gentleman and one hell of an artist. I am so glad we stopped in that day and so happy to see my wife in love with her ring again.
Thank you to Georgios and his lovely daughter (I am sorry that we didn't get her name in all...
