Fantastic Sams Cut & Color — Local services in New Lenox

The staff is really friendly and the atmosphere is very clean so I do feel bad about leaving such a negative review. I called on the 23rd to see if they could service my two sons with a haircut as our usual barber needed to cancel our appointments. Fortunately, they were able to get us in for both boys to get their haircuts simultaneously, so I was very relieved. Both stylists asked what type of cut and for both. I asked for a medium fade, crew cut on top. Each stylist took each boy to their stations and I sat in the center seating area to monitor each of my sons (they are 9 and 6). When my first son was done, I went up and paid for both, leaving a 40% tip as I was so grateful they were able to cut my boys’ hair before Christmas. When my last son was done, we were already paid, so we left. Once we got home, I saw some issues before sending them into the shower but thought it was just the cut hairs still on their heads. When they came out, I inspected their heads. I wanted it to be the light, or the loose hairs. Unfortunately, the issues I saw was the actual haircut. My 9 year old has a missing side burn, and the other shaved extremely thin. His neck nape shaping is crooked and there is no fade, just a straight 3 all the way up. My 6 year old did have some fading however it looked choppy and gouged. His sideburns were evenly shaved off and neck nape shaved too high. I should have inspected it there. My boys get haircuts at least once a month since they were 4 so this was not a new event for them nor did they wiggle. There were no additional customers waiting so I don’t believe the stylists were rushing. I have not contacted the owner honestly because of my anxiety. I know they do amazing coloring, but it seems like two little boys’ haircuts were their nemesis. If I could get in for a cool coloring session, I would have to decline- this experience really made me uneasy of the stylists’...

I originally wanted to book an appointment with Theresa but she was booked and the only time they had available was at 9 so I come in I brought a picture on what I wanted and it was $277 which if I was to go somewhere else it would have been $180 but I decided to get something else in my budget since I drove 45 minutes Theresa told the stylist that was doing my hair an idea of a color that was in my budget and I liked it I asked my stylist about a detangling product and she didn’t say anything after she washed my hair she didn’t wipe my color off very well I had color on my ears and neck and some on my face and the stylist said after she blowed dry my hair said sorry I got your hair nappy again in a rude way she did do a good job on my hair but not what I wanted and she was rude Theresa was very nice but the lady I had was rude and I do not understand how they said the only time they had a available was 9 when 2 other girls were standing around doing nothing for 2 hours I will not...

I was lucky enough to be in close range of this salon since I’ve seen Theresa’s tiktoks. However I just wanted an androgynous pixie cut which I knew I wouldn’t get Theresa for, and that’s totally fine. I called to check to see if anyone there did androgynous cuts and schedule an appointment. I don’t know who picked up, but the lady sounded very uninterested and had an attitude. I asked if they had anyone that does androgynous cuts and she said “uh huuuh?” I described the cut I wanted since it was a little different but I kept getting “ok?”. She wasn’t very helpful and I wish I remembered who she was, but her attitude made me feel stupid for asking. I know you guys are busy, but I felt really dumb for asking an honest question since I’ve only seen this salon...
