Coming up on this station (already in the train) can be a sort of surprise. This is a good station to know where you are going once you get out - because they are very different terrains at opposite ends.

Stop is next to the Flatiron Building and Madison Square Park. It is not far from Baruch College. The station is small and, I think, unmanned by MTA personnel. Separate entrances for uptown and downtown trains.

One neat thing about the platform is that the walls have hats of many famous celebrities who lived in the Chelsea neighborhood from 1880-1920. The hats are positioned on the wall at the height where they would have been had the person been wearing the hat. So the wait...
