A furnished island in the middle of two super busy streets where you can stop, take a photo, get a map, take a seat, and try not to get hit by cars. Just like all the urban spaces in the city, there are small metal tables and chairs to relax a bit before going on your way. It's a great outdoor place to eat the gelato you got from Eataly and people watch, although Madison Square Park is also right there. Probably the most photographed angle of the Flatiron building comes from kneeling in this plaza, but it never gets old. There's a tourist info booth that has maps and brochures of activities for lost tourists. There are art installations here sometimes. This past weekend the plaza turned into a popup exhibition of The Museum of Broken Relationships which had some really interesting pieces and stories, but the best part was the free popsicle...
