5 stars for cleanliness of facility. 1 star for setting expectations and greeting and overall attention to experience while it was happening. We went yesterday for my birthday, excited since we've done over 80 escape rooms. We were greeted to sign ewaiver, used the rest room then led to the back open space room where we were asked to pick our gear. This is where this experience veers off dramatically from other escape room experiences. We put the hand sensors on our wrists and tightened the band as directed, we put the head gear on and were told that we just have to follow the directions. We asked about hints and were told we could elect them as needed. There was a clear lack of direction given to us. We had just done VR Sandbox in Woodbridge NJ the day before and the experiences were night and day as far as attention paid to level of customer service. The girl who set us up basically just had us put on the gear, hit play and then walked away. There's no story line or intuitive navigation within the escape game, there were lots of things we could pick up and put down but no real opportunity to do anything but click a hint button which just lead you to the answer after two or three prompts. We wasted 12 of our 30 minute experience stuck on the second level, having put the props in the place to activate the next phase and I kept asking for someone to assist to no avail. I even took my mask off and headphones and yelled down the hall however again no response. We were stuck at this one place in the game for almost half the time and I was extremely disappointed when the front desk guy came over and said well you must not have done it right but I can have you skip this step. This action of moving us along in the game wasn't the experience we were expecting. Game masters usually try to understand where you are in the game and offer some compassionate empathy for wasted game play time (seeing as we're paying 100 bucks for 30 minutes) . There was no attempt to assist and quite honestly I think the guy couldn't have cared less. We were really expecting this to be a great time worth the value and unfortunately it fell flat. Again, we're not boomers or people who dont understand the concept of VR or escape games- this is our hobby. This left the day with a sour note as it was the end of my birthday celebration. Will not be returning obviously. I'd rather take the extra time to drive to Sandbox VR in Woodbridge where their customer service was excellent even though there were some...

My friends and I were visiting NY for the weekend and we definitely wanted to try a group gaming activity since we're all gamers.
I'd love to start by saying Jerome, Co-owner/CEO, was such a pleasure! He was sweet to start and super informative and funny. Really made us all feel comfortable about the experience we were about to embark on.
The entrance was a bit tricky to find because the building numbers weren't in ascending order, but once you find the door, the doorbell to ring was just to the left of the entrance. We climbed up to the third floor and were pleasantly greeted by Jerome! The room was spacious and you can see the setup where you'll be playing so it's super exciting to get a glimpse as to what's to come. He provided face covers for the headsets which we appreciated so so so much! (If you've ever worn a stinky shared VR headset, you'll understand why it was the biggest sigh of relief to see that they keep these things clean and sanitized!) Once we selected what game we wanted to try (The escape room) It was pure fun, definitely something worth experiencing. The puzzles were challenging but not impossible, and there are definitely hints to help so that you have a chance of escaping within your 40-minute gaming slot.
There were moments during the game where you truly forgot that you're playing in a virtual world. One of my favorite moments, as an example, was when we were all on a moving platform so it felt like our center of gravity shifted, but in reality we were just standing still haha. You want to take a step to counter the shift but it's all in your mind!
The overall experience was definitely a 10/10 and my friends and I look forward to returning to play some shooters or even any new games that Tidal Force may come out with as they progress! :)
Thank you for the excellent communication and for being a great...
Read moreMy fiance and I had a fantastic experience at Tidal Force VR. Our host Thomas was courteous and knowledgeable, he informed us that they are a small business and that they develop their games in house. We played Room K which was fun and enjoyable. Room K is an escape room that ends as a shooter.
The graphics were solid and immersive. Response time and calibration on everything was on point. I enjoyed walking around hallways and taking elevators in particular because they felt immersive in a very peculiar way (my body not wanting to touch the walls even tho there are no walls. My fiance freaking out about me jumping off the elevator even tho we were really on solid ground). The puzzles were interesting without being difficult, sometimes they didn't even feel like puzzles. The shooting section had us both screaming and jumping around at first.
Overall our experience was fantastic and we have no complaints tho their are a few suggestions that could really take things to the next level.
In partialar better audio as that was easily the weakest part of our experience. I'm not sure how feasible that is given the headsets they are using (which are otherwise great). Additionally a difficulty setting for people who are returning (we would love to come back) would add some...
