This is a mixed review. I went to Alinea Medical Spa in NYC for abdominal and flank liposuction. I had not read any reviews prior to committing to the surgery but did note it had 4.5 stars on Google reviews. Also, my girlfriend was using their NJ office, at the same time, for other procedures with no issues. First the good. I was awake and very comfortable during the entire procedure. Dr Mahmoud surely knows how to make you comfortable for this procedure. I didn’t even feel the numbing needles. I was a little sore the next day but by day two I really felt great. My abdomen looks great and has from day one. Still waiting for the flanks to look better. Also, Dr Mahmoud called me on a Sunday to check up on me. Great, right? Sent him a photo of the compression and he suggested a different apparatus. Now the not so good. I had a three week follow up scheduled. When I got there Dr Mahmoud wasn’t even in the building. He was doing surgery in another office, and nobody figured it would be a good idea to tell me. I was seen by the Assisting. He took photos, sent them to Dr Mahmoud and told me the Dr would be calling me shortly. Later that evening he texted me asking if it is ok to call me. I immediately replied “yes” but received no call. But he did call me the next day, but only after I reached out to someone in the office. We reviewed the compression, and he wanted me to switch to another apparatus because the flanks were still not what we were expecting, based on the photos. Meanwhile, I scheduled another follow up WITH Dr Mahmoud the following week. 45 minutes before that appointment I called to make sure Dr Mahmoud was in the office and they confirmed it. 25 minutes before my appointment I received a text from someone there asking if I could come a half hour after my scheduled appointment because he was running late. I noted that I was already on the subway and couldn’t change it. I arrived for my appointment. Photos were taken by an assistant. I waited in the room for an hour, finally had to get back to my office, and never saw Dr Mahmoud. One hour and thirty-eight minutes after my scheduled appointment time the office person texted me asking if I ever saw the Doctor. Funny! I was told I would get a call from her, but it never came. And the Dr never even called me. That was five days ago. So, four and a half weeks post-surgery and the surgeon has never seen me…..and we had issues with the post-surgery compression???? Very disappointing. There are MANY reviews regarding how long you may wait there for your appointment. Some say hours! I think they are so focused on making money, and quickly, that they overbook surgeries and disregard follow ups if necessary. I've waited a couple of months to leave a review because I wanted to give my recovery a fair chance to show progress. I suffer from normal acne, and when I was younger, I didn't know how to properly care for it, leading to acne scars on both cheeks (depressed acne scars like rolling and box scars).

I regret not doing enough research before choosing this place. I was influenced by client photos and the clinic's proximity to my apartment, but it turned out to be a mistake. Here are the issues I encountered:

Research and Certification: I should have compared this clinic with other board-certified places. That was my oversight. Consultation and Treatment Plan: During my first consultation, I was given a treatment plan involving 4-5 CO2 laser sessions, costing close to $4000. I was told my acne scars would improve but not completely disappear, which I understood. However, after the last treatment, I was told to wait 2-3 months for full results, but I barely see any improvement. They never scheduled a follow-up appointment despite their promise. Unprofessional Staff: One of the front desk staff was particularly rude. During one visit, she interrupted my conversation with another receptionist and told me to sit down, which was very disrespectful. On another occasion, she claimed I owed $700 even though I had already paid. I had to show my bank statement to prove my payment, highlighting their poor payment tracking system. Lack of Results and Poor Communication: After waiting the recommended 2-3 months post-treatment, I saw minimal difference. When I requested my progress photos, it took them an entire month to send them, and many were blurry, making it hard to assess any progress. While some hyperpigmented scars improved, the depressed scars remained unchanged.

I came to Dr. Ammar Mahmoud with a specific procedure in mind: Profound RF. And I couldn't be more pleased with the results. I found him on Google by typing "best doctors in NYC for Profound RF" and his name popped up on top.

They say the finest outcomes won't be seen for at least 3 to 6 months following treatment since it takes time for new collagen and elastin to form correctly, but in less than four weeks from the treatment and I could see noticeable improvements in the overall look of my face and jawline after only a few weeks.

Among all the non-invoice and semi-invasive procedures I had in the past, this was the most effective one. I had Morpheus 8, Facetite, Ultherapy, Exilis, fat transfer, and PRP/PRF injections in the past 7 years. They were all good, but Profound RF results are comparable to an invasive procedure like a mini facelift without its cons.

In our first meeting, we spoke a lot and it was quite an education for me on the correlation between certain areas of the face and facial aesthetics. He listened to all my concerns. I made the right decision, and I could not be happier.

Dr. Mahmoud is extremely knowledgeable, talented, and caring. An expert in Profound RF. He has eyes for details and his recommendations (the use of supplements like collagen, vitamin C, Zinc, etc) made my results better than I could have ever imagined.

My entire experience with his staff was as close to perfect as you can get! I never felt like I was rushed and my (endless) questions were always answered thoroughly.
