It seems like a great place but there customer service is horrible. I recently went here to get my contact lens exam and asked for my prescription. They gave it to me without a contact lens brand name, so I couldnt get contacts from another place. I went to Costco and when asked to fax it over they said that's not allowed. Kept telling me that I HAVE to come to get a whole new exam. I said I dont have time to come, and called to speak to the manager. She finally agreed to mail the prescription to me. A week and a half later that arrived. I went today to costco and the optician tells me these guys dont want to give you contacts, because my name wasnt on it. I called the clinic and the lady tells me I was supposed to write my name myself, as if I'm the doctor writing prescriptions now. I gave the phone to the optician and he asked them to fax it over, which even though "wasnt allowed", they did after I called them once again to make sure if they sent it or not. Half an hour later they sent a prescription for my glasses, CROSSING out the entire contact lens section. Its astonishing what level of ignorance certain people have. I called again to tell them that they had sent the wrong prescription. The lady then sent the SAME PRESCRIPTION that I had without my name. So I called again, as I began to tell her with every ounce of patience possible, she cut me off saying, you need to calm down I just sent it! I told her, you need to understand this is the 10th call (they would be picking up and putting me on hold, or the answering machine would say they are closed, when in fact they closed 45 minutes later). I need my prescription with my NAME on it. She took deep sigh as if her doing her job was a favor for me. Then she said, you could had just written your name on it as instructed, and hung up the phone. 10 min later the fax came with the correct info.
I highly recommend anyone reading this to not go to this clinic as long as the same people working there remain there. Go to any other trustable place if you want eye care with respect any human deserves. I am saying this because people I know have been to other americas best clinics and told me how wonderful the...

Itās a convenient location and itās in a decent area if you donāt like being in āthe hoodā Muhammad was a pleasant care representative and the optometrist was very professional Only problem I had was the woman who blows the air in your eye, assuming me and this woman who were sitting on complete different sides of the waiting room, faced in opposite directions, but because we are both black!? Why else did she think we were together?! š¤š¤¦š½āāļøš¤Ø
Update: 3/16/2025 Changed my star āļø rating from Three to ONE āļø
I ordered some glasses. $519 for light weight, transitional, crizol, progressive and scratch resistantā¦. Itās been a week and they are still not back yet. They send them to a lab and it can take up to 7-10 business days. My contacts took nearly nearly two weeks and I think a week waiting for glasses when there are companies that create them in a day is ridiculous!!! To say the least. The contacts I purchased are of poor quality. They shift around in my eye resulting in constant rubbing and irritation. They are supposed to be progressive yet I still find my self wearing reading glasses with them in!!! I can only imagine the quality of these glasses I am going to receive However they have cause me the greatest inconvenience because I purchased them while vacationing in NY and will now have to leave and return home and drive back from CT just to pick them up. The rep on the phone was apologetic but also āmatter of factlyā insensitiveā¦. I have to find a more reliable eye care center that can deal with emergency situations. Vision is an emergency situation. 7-10 days of impaired vision is detrimental to my self and others...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely stunned and appalled at the strange, rushed experience I just had here with two receptionist staff members on the afternoon of 8/26. Canāt even speak to the bedside manner or care of the doctor since I ended up walking out during the initial eye exam.
The attitudes from the staff were off from the moment I walked in. The first receptionist tried to begin taking my information, only for the second receptionist to begin barking corrections / cutting off the first one when she began struggling to locate what she needed on the computer. The tension between the two was strange and IMO unprofessional to express in front of patients.
After this point, the treatment I received only grew stranger and more abrupt and unwarranted: From slamming the intake computer keyboard down in front of me when I asked if I could write down my social security number with a pen (rather than recite it out loud to a room full of other patients), to rushing ME through reciting the Snellan charts, cutting me off before I could even attempt to read the first line, I was treated like a total nuisance rather than a paying patient.
I understand Americaās Best is a large chain, and that the quality control and training of staff depends greatly on the location, but itās incredibly upsetting to be treated this way. People who cannot afford insurance or can only book eye exams after working hours shouldnāt have to go through this kind of treatment just because of those two factors.
I absolutely will be filing a formal complaint but in the meantime Iām hoping this saves someone the travel time of visiting...
