She is totally thorough. She spends MORE than ample time with you and explains everything. The first time - and every time afterwards - I walked away thinking 'wow finally a doctor who actually treats patients' instead of the many I've had who are jaded, exhausted, and disconnected. I feel 100% confident of her competence, intelligence, and clearly profound expertise. World class. I would put all of my trust in this doctor's hands and wouldn't trade her for any other doctor. I wish I could find an internist this good. She sits down with you and she REALLY knows her stuff. You can't do better. She's also no-nonsense, smart, and caring without being syrupy saccharine sweet and cloying like some doctors. I don't know about you but I really don't have time for a fake doctor and fake smiles when dealing with a twin pregnancy. Read moreAbsolutely do not recommend Dr. Lasala. I was under her care during my pregnancy and experienced cold, dismissive bedside manner and consistent neglect of my medical concerns. My warning signs were overlooked, and at 31 weeks, I tragically lost my baby.
What’s even more upsetting is her complete lack of accountability or compassion after the loss. I truly believe my outcome could have been different if I had been heard and treated with proper care.
If you are considering her as your OB, especially if you are from the BIPOC community, advocate for yourself and report every concern to patient services. That paper trail could be the only protection you have.
The only mistake I made was not reporting her earlier. Please do not make the same one.

Read moreI loved her for my first pregnancy but I’ll never forget that she did not inform me she no longer performed deliveries until a month or so before my second schedule c section. I was taken aback and scared and sobbing in her office. It was too late at that point to transfer care to someone who would know me before performing, essentially, surgery on me. Luckily the covering ob was excellent but, this was my last baby and left a bad taste...
