Apthorp Pharmacy — Local services in New York

Apthorp Pharmacy is an NYC gem! Even if you do not live on the UWS this feels like a local pharmacy and they easily service the entire city - and further with their option for overnight shipping via FedEx. I have been in touch with Apthorp regularly lately - in person and over the phone - and highly recommend them.

Their Pharmacists and team members are patient, knowledgeable and kind. At one point, I probably called Apthorp 5 or 6 times in one day. One of their pharmacists, Jordan, was particularly wonderful to work with. He answered all of my questions, made sure I had everything I needed and even rushed to have an item delivered to me downtown (in just 30 minutes) when I realized I was missing it. And, Jordan shared the pharmacy department’s direct line in case I had any other questions.

Nicole has also been great to work with and even called to confirm I had everything I needed ahead of a recent snowstorm. The Apthorp team makes it clear that they are available via phone, text, email - and even have pharmacists on call after business hours. I also appreciated that they called me when something was not covered by my insurance (which I knew) before they ran my card.

Apthorp feels like a small, local pharmacy in the midst of a big city - in the best way. They are also offering the COVID vaccine and I was touched by how personal and thoughtful the team was to people coming in for their shots when I was there in person recently. I am a bit of an expert when it comes to reviewing pharmacies as I have been getting a compounded medicated for nearly two decades (since 2006). I know what makes a pharmacy good, mediocre, and bad. And Apthorp Pharmacy is great; I almost always work with Bill (one of the pharmacists) but the others are great as well. They have always been quick to compound my medication, without hassle and their pricing is very competitive. You have gone out of your way for me, please don't think I don't know this.

There are a lot of chain pharmacies out there most people don't even know independent pharmacies exist but it is worth seeking out Apthorp. There's just no good reason to goto a chain when you have Apthorp in the neighborhood; They even deliver to your house or work for no extra cost locally (or a small fee if you need to send via FedEx).

If you have any questions the pharmacists are knowledgeable. They also respond quickly by SMS/text message, which I greatly appreciate.
