This is a true, authentic, exquisite French bakery run by a beautiful French woman who greets you as you enter. The pleasant sounds of the busy, small kitchen lovingly creating an authentic and unbelievable array of French pastries, breads, confections, cakes, eclairs, sandwiches, macaroons and more as if magic. In the window are baskets filled with the best French baked goods I have ever tried (including in france!) - croissants of every variety, amanns (the koign amman or “sugar cake” warmed is truly capable of making your eyes roll to the back of your head with pleasure). In the first glass case are rows and rows of gorgeous jewel tones of every flavor of macaroon one could dream of and in the second glass case an array of sweet and savory classic French delights: eclairs, and other desserts dripping in glossy, dark chocolate and delightful green pistachio crème and croque monsieurs (please excuse misspellings), spinach pastries, and other decadent sandwiches and savory lunch items. Then, you turn your head and there is a menu of caffe au lait and other coffees and teas and juices and, if you aren’t on your way there now, out of respect for New York, bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches and a limited but perfect selection of breakfast and lunch sandwiches that can be made to order. The space itself is small but absolutely beautiful and whimsical and oh so…Parisian. There isn’t space to eat or drink there, so be prepared to take your selection of heavenly French creations and walk 2 blocks to Central Park or eat as you stroll! In sum, I never leave reviews and certainly was not asked to do this and didn’t feel obligated as it has many rave reviews, but I felt compelled to write about this experience after finishing my warm and gooey, yet light and flakey koign amann and hot foamy cafe au lait - which, for me, is on my short list of my life’s...

Stepping inside, you're immediately transported from the streets of New York to a quaint Parisian boulangerie. The interiors are elegantly rustic, exuding an old-world charm with its artisan woodwork and dimmed lighting, juxtaposed beautifully with the modern cityscape peeking through its windows.
The pièce de résistance of this establishment, however, is undoubtedly its pastries, the crown jewel among them being the almond croissants. These almond croissants are nothing short of a revelation. As you bite into the flaky exterior, you're greeted with layers of buttery goodness that delicately unravel with each bite. The almond filling is rich, yet not overpowering, striking a balance that's evocative of centuries-old French baking traditions. The subtle sweetness complemented by the nutty undertones ensures that each mouthful is a symphony of flavors, both sophisticated and comforting.
In conclusion, this bakery is not just a place to satiate one's sweet cravings; it's an experience, a journey through the annals of French culinary artistry right in the heart of New York. A must-visit for both locals and tourists alike, it stands as a testament to the magic that ensues when masterful skill meets unbridled passion. The next time you find yourself wandering the streets of the city, do yourself a favor and indulge in this French oasis. You...
Read moreMove over Thai ice rolls, there's a new kid on the block! Flushing's stepping up its dessert game with the addition of Ice & Pan - tayaki fish stuffed with red bean, custard, matcha, or taro and served with matcha, Hokkaido milk, black sesame, or chocolate soft serve of your choice, AND a free topping. If you're indecisive or have no idea which soft serve you'd like, fear not because they do let you sample! (Yes, it's rare, but I guess people in Flushing can be nice too.)
After sampling the matcha and black sesame soft serve, I was still torn between what to order because they both were so good. I did go with the matcha because it's matcha, along with the red bean stuffing, and topped it with mochi. I LOVE how they make each tayaki fresh on the spot - it's such a pleasure to watch, especially when they can easily pre make these and just top it with soft serve whenever someone orders. Yes, I know other Yelpers have complained about the wait, but if you come during non peak hours, you'll just be waiting 5-10 minutes for your order. Totally worth waiting for because who wouldn't want a fresh tayaki?! It makes a HUGE difference because after devouring my soft serve, I was finally able to pick up the tayaki for my first bite. Be careful when you take your first bite because the tayaki is still piping hot, the red bean bursts out. Soft, gooey, pure deliciousness!
Not only is this dessert good, it's very photographable as the mochi is rainbow and it also came with a free pocky stick! I'm already planning to return this...
