Read moreDo not go here. In full discretion, I have long past the shoulder thick hair and went in for color correction. Due to time constraints, we agreed to just dye my hair a more natural shade to match my roots. There was no bleach involved. It was just putting hair color on the pre-existing hair, waiting 40 minutes, and then washing it out. I agreed to this and then got a surprise with the bill, which showed this billed was billed as a "double process" for a total of $320! I literally could have gone to CVS, bought two bottles of hair dye for $40 and just have put that on my head .
After trying to explain that double process usually involves bleaching and then coloring something, they continued to say that it was double process because he had to use double the amount of hair dye.
What absolute incompetence and lack of clear communication. My experiences with other salons is that when a service can be costly, they will tell you up front the price and let you decide if you want to proceed .
There may be talent in this salon but there's also very bad business practices and customer service. Go elsewhere.
RESPONSE FROM OWNER: They said they have their own special meaning of "double process" which essentially means using double the amount of hairdye and charging someone $320 dollars for that. So outrageous and no excuse. If you have a special meaning to "double process" that goes against the industry definition, then communicate clearly and upfront about that and your outrageous prices. Stay away from this business and Im also reporting them to the local council member for...
Read moreIt's unfortunate, when small businesses are rude to their clients as they are basically shooting themselves in the foot.
The positive about this place is the nice, clean and spacious layout (although white LED lighting is a bit harsh on the eyes). The cut and blowout was not bad and the girl (I believe her name was Flori or Flora) doing it was very kind.
But the overall experience was unpleasant due to one of the employees who "greeted me" and washed my hair. After washing my hair, she made the following comment "It looks like your back is wet. But it's not my fault, as you came in a turtleneck". I haven't even realized that until she brought it up, and for her to get so defensive right away and actually blame me for something is very rude. People might wear thin turtlenecks for religious reasons, because they might prefer to hide scars on their body or simply because their day does not revolve around a hair appointment, so the tone and comment was very out of place. After that she directed me to a different girl for the cut. Although I had requested an appointment with Marjana, after the girl strated cutting my hair I realized it wasn't her. Again, I was never asked if I was okay with the change of hairstylists or not. And in the end, as to be expected, there was some back and forth around the price, something about my cut being complex. I have very fine hair and just went to get shoulder length cut (no layers) and simple bangs, so not sure how that's a complex cut.
Anyway, plenty of other places to...
