Astoria Food Pantry — Local services in New York

I am so grateful for the Astoria Food Pantry. Really I am.. I do have to say that the volunteers are not always the best. When I went in today to pick up a few things I felt judged and demeaned. It was something I never expected since every other time I came in I felt welcomed and humbled. This pantry even though small caters to a wide cross section of ethnicities and thus have to be diverse in their selections handed out only once a week on Mondays however, it's a first come service until everything runs out. At times they run out of stock but one quite noticable trait 'Always Fresh Never Stale ' unlike other pantries that give spoiled, rotten, expired, unedible food that has to be thrown away.
