Walking around Astoria looking for a shawarma shop we stopped here as the other great shawrma spot was under renovation. Place had a little jam outside as there were a bunch of people ordering togo and waiting. The sitting area inside is more or less like a quick bite stool and table by the wall as the kitchen takes most of the space as it is needed with all the good stuff they have on the menu.
Looking through the kitchen you can see all the great kebabs ready to be cooked and all the great lamb, beef and veggie broth trays. We started off by ordering a Chicken kebab , Falafel and kofta sandwiches, also beef and lamb broth platters with a large side order of french fries. Now the taste...... what can i say it just was amazing ...rightly cooked and the orders jsut came out all at same time rather than one at a time so we could all enjoy are food. Party of 5 killed a lot of food and we wanted more.
Had a nice discussion with the owners who are Moroccan and gave us a good intro of their food which they said they order fresh meat everyday and marinate it with the basic ingredients ever. Food was right and the way the kitchen worked was every more of a jaw dropper with all the traffic in the store.

Read moreWho orders non-sandwich items at a sandwich shop? Well in that case, don’t be like me. We made the mistake in ordering beef shank, lamb shank, harrira soup and a cheese burger. We ordered both shanks with rice, and only got the beef shank with rice, the lamb shank with fries sprinkled on top. I went back and asked for rice, and got ignored. I know they’re busy, but please learn how to listen while taking orders instead of ringing up another customer at the same time.
The food wasn’t that great. The lamb meat on the bone was hard to pull off, and wasn’t succulent. The fries got soggy in the stew. The beef shank was full of fat and not flavorful. The rice was clumpy and cold. The harrira soup was subpar. The entire experience was sloppy, as we were just forcing ourselves to eat so as not to waste food.
When it came to paying, of course we fought to pay, overlooking the breakdown. However we did notice they overcharged us for the lamb shank. On the wall and paper menu it says $13, but they charged us $20. When we asked about the price difference, they just said “this was before and everything went up”. I understand that but please reflect that in the current menu price. It’s unscrupulous to advertise one price and...

They added water to their soups after they were cooked which makes them taste like boiled legumes with no flavor, and when you try to address the issue they respond saying 'I only work here, complain to the owner'. (Young agitated worker)
The money isn't refunded and they accuse you of lying. A TRUE 0 Star customer service
No need to add that their sandwich are full of NOTHING as the picture shows. 5 small pieces of liver in a full hero bread knowing that you can buy a pound of liver at $4
They ALWAYS run out of vegetables however their platter's prices remain the same as if they in lode it. So you get to eat more oily rice while the owner is saving money on the vegetables
I am sure many people share...
