This company deserves 0 stars in all areas. Customer service was mediocre prior to service and just went downhill during and after the service. I wanted to surprise my mom with her house decoration since Christmas is her favorite holiday. Every year my mom sets up her own decorations and had never had an outage no matter the weather conditions. With that being said, let's get into the issues: The first issue with this company was poor communication . With all the rain we had in November going into December, no one called to tell me our scheduled date would be pushed back due to the weather. I had to find that out by calling them to confirm the date scheduled and was then informed. They were not 100% clear about the date and time so I told them to give me a call about 1hr earlier. The installers called when they were in front of my house and I was not home. Secondly, I sent pictures of my home as requested. Why did I come home to see none of the terraces decorated. When I spoke to John, he was so arrogant and aggressive about my requests. He wasnt even listening to anything I was saying telling me he doesn't decorate the rear of the house. I never even mentioned the rear, I said terrace! He still is arguing me and I told him pls go look at the pictures I sent . So that was fixed. The biggest part: I realized he was not using all outdoor electric cords and called him. He lied about it being fine to use outdoors and that he uses these cords all the time and has never had a complaint. In my mind I'm saying if they are all weather why are you covering it with black electrical tape? After the job was done, he sends me an invoice with a disclaimer that they are not responsible for any outages if we have a GFI outlet. To my understanding, all outdoor outlets are GFI because they are susceptible to moisture. Then 2 days later, it rains and we have an outage meanwhile everyone else on the block is still lit. Why? Because yes we have a GFI outdoor outlet and he didnt use the correct cords so the safety aspect of the GFI had to chip on to prevent a fire. And for the icing on the cake: I came home one day to see sparkling by my window. My house could have caught on fire because of these inappropriate cords!!! I felt so bad because my mom could do a better job. Just wanted the service to light the roof mainly. When I complained about the service and included the fact that for $1263 he used the cheapest lights and foil bows not even the velvet ones he told me I should call my lawyer and hung up on me. B&R Christmas Decorators have designed and decorated the outside of my home for the last 5 years. I have found their crew to be very professional and easy to work with. The office staff is very accommodating coordinating the set up and removal dates. James is an excellent designer. He's readily available if a section of lights go out during the season, he will send someone from his staff to resolve the issue. You may not find that service with the competitive companies.
