Bangkok Center Grocery — Local services in New York

It’s perfect. The hodgepodge Asian groceries probably have what I need for pad Thai, but I have to wander around for twenty minutes. Here, there are three aisles and they have everything, including fresh Thai basil, the staff is always friendly, they take cards, and they’re right around the corner from a couple of tea places and some of my go-to lunch spots. The prices seem average, I haven’t actually compared down to the pennies, but it seems like exactly what it costs anywhere else. Wonderful & well stocked Thai grocery store! As a clean freak, I love how all the fresh produce is packaged in plastic nicely :)

Lots of different sauces, curry pastes, dried and fresh ingredients! I got ingredients to make a Thai papaya salad + lovely peanut snack from my childhood 😋

Also, the cashier (I’m pretty sure she was the owner) was SO sweet, helpful and kind. I regret not getting her name today — but if you’re reading this, thank you for your help :) I will definitely return to support her...

We recently returned from a trip to Thailand and wanted to try cooking some of the dishes we learned to cook while we were there. We weren't sure if we would be able to find all the same ingredients here in New York. This place has them! The owner was so friendly and helpful.
