Biancardi Meats — Local services in New York

Ive been shopping at Biancardi for over 35 years and I also highlighted this meat market when I was doing a cooking segment with Martha Stewart in 1999 and actually advertised them on television. To date though, I am so dismayed at how horrible the butchers treat their customers. I placed a meat order which included 4 veal necks, instead I got 40 lbs. of veal shoulder, consisted of fat and bones totalling $112.00 which I did not order. I also received soppressata which was hard as granite or could of been used to hammer nails. In addition my rabbit was discolored dark meat which indicated it was spoiled. Since I live in CT I called the butcher and told him I would returning these items since I did not order some and others were ready for the garbage and not edible. Upon returning them they at first refused and finally with reluctance and horrible treatment they refunded me and told me to shop somewhere else. I told him I wouldn't shop there again if it were the last butcher on earth! This is the thanks I get for promoting this meat market. Either these people are ignorant or think they are the butcher from Heaven and can treat their customers with such disrespect. They are NOW crooked corrupt and thieves trying to sell items that were not ordered by the customers and giving them items that should not be sold because they expired. To say that this was a very uncomfortable visit to Biancardi's is the least I could say. I have never received such rude, dismissive customers service ever, especially from well recommended businesses such as this one. When placing my order I felt rushed, ignored and unwelcomed, No one should ever feel like that after walking out of any business; they could barely be bothered to put their cellphones down. And not to mention the butcher refusing to butcher. I had asked for 2 2" thick Prime Ribeyes, and came home to open a package with 2 1"thick Choice Ribeyes instead. I won't be...

Been shopping here for years. Was told today that the lamb sausage that I’ve been buying for my mom is actually MIXED WITH MOSTLY PORK (even though I always ask for lamb or chicken products) Shame. Also, all of the Latin men working here are so kind and pleasant. The short, white man that works here (and is possibly the owner because he was picking on the other guys) is a total jerk.
