Visited this Bakery yesterday for the first time based on recommendations. Bought a loaf of semolina bread, 2 black & White cookies and 1/2lb of mixed cookies. When I got home, I realized the bread was hard as a rock (probably day old), the black and whites were wrapped tightly in plastic wrap, those too were hard after eating them for dessert last night. The cookies lacked freshness and flavor, waste of money and calories as I've never found blk/wht wrapped in plastic as they are usually fresh and stacked. Honestly, the shop rite bakery blk/whts have much better flavor and texture not to mention fresh and soft. These cookies weren't even round but more oval in shape. Disappointed would be an under statement, wasted $22 on baked goods that my local supermarket does a better job with. Perhaps if the items were fresh it would have made a difference. Eitherway how do you as a bakery sell day old hard bread and cookies, NEVER again. Rockland bakery in Rockland county blows this place out of the water and their pricing is 30% better too. Lesson learned, advice to owners - throw out your day old hard baguettes and cookies that don't sell within 48 hrs....donate them to food pantry or something but do not give them to people...
Read moreThis review is for the bakery's customer service practices and not for the quality of the baked goods. i want to stress though for customers interested in frequenting a place that seems to be oriented to equity and providing access to all customers, this is NOT your place. I went in on a cold January evening and asked what kind of bread they had. One of the women behind the counter snappishly told me to go look as they had so many kinds. I went, tried to see what kind they had-- honestly could not tell as I don't know how it is possible, say, to tell if there is an olive bread or a sourdough, or whatever-- and I asked her again if she cold tell me. She said she couldn't and that I should look. I asked if they had a written list, again she said no. Finally, I told her that it might be a good idea to tell customers what they have, and that perhaps she should not assume that all customers can see or can tell what they have. She replied very belligerently, "I am not a doctor, how am I supposed to know who can see and who can't?" And she was just rude-- completely not interested in helping facilitate a purchase. Perhaps she did not want to sell bread? I don't know. What I do know is that this seems like a particularly...

If youâre looking for the best bread in town and donât mind a side of mild emotional abuse, this bakery is the place for you.
The Bread? Life-Changing.
The moment you take a bite, youâll wonder if you were born in the wrong century, because this bread tastes like it was handcrafted by medieval monks using ancient secrets. Crust? Perfectly crisp. Inside? Fluffy, warm, and borderline spiritual. Youâll want to buy extra just to apologize to your past self for ever eating store-bought bread.
The Staff? Hilariously Rude.
Ever been judged for your pastry choices? You will be. Ask a question, and youâll get a look that says, âYou seriously donât know that?â Order too slowly? Expect an exaggerated sigh. But somehow, it adds to the charmâlike a grumpy grandma who secretly loves you but would never admit it.
Final Verdict
Come for the unreal bread, stay for the comedic hostility. Just donât expect warm smilesâunless you count the warmth of a fresh baguette smacking you with judgment. 10/10 would get...
