Update 2025: *pics from most recent hair Ruxandra is back in the city and I couldn’t be happier! The salon she works out of is super cute and easy to get to. And now on top of French Balayage, I have been getting express blonde Cezanne treatments and my hair has never felt healthier even bleached! It takes less effort to style, dries so fast and any frizz is gone. It’s effortless! I am sold on Cezanne after doing it in 2024, it’s now a part of my routine since I feel I am now a life long blonde.

Update 2024: So sad that Boho Balayage moved all the way to Long Beach and now I have to go all the way there, but I’ll gladly do it because I’ll never give her up! My dark medium hair needs the expertise of Ruxandra and I will never go to anyone else. I have followed her since her days in Tribeca.

A wonderful, safe and expert home hair salon. I had self bleached my hair during quarantine and it came out how you’d expect. I found this home salon and the colorist is masked, I was masked and she also had two medical air purifiers. When the weather allows she does the service outdoors for extra safety. I am so glad I went because now my blonde ombré is FLAWLESS and she toned it with a gorgeous rose champagne - I’m obsessed. My hair is naturally very dark brown so to get this kind of color is near impossible. Andra did the most amazing job and what else could I expect from someone who has been doing this close to 30 years.

Ruxandra did an amazing job with my hair! I went to her with some worn-out balayage that had faded, leaving my hair feeling dried out and crispy and looking thin and frizzy. I wanted my hair closer to my natural darker brown, but a little more dramatic. I asked Ruxandra to do what she thought would look best with my skin and eyes, and she came up with a custom plan to layer four different rich browns into my hair and top them with a semi-translucent gloss which would wear off naturally so I never got that sharp line of demarcation at the roots. It made my features pop like never before! It looks completely natural, but even better than my real hair color. She also actually listens when you say "I only want you to trim a quarter inch off the bottom." Trust her judgment, people, she knows what she's doing. Ruxandra was also so lovely to work with. Her home is so welcoming and peaceful. She offered me Prosecco and we listened to music and her super friendly ragdoll kitten came and chilled with us. I got to read during processing time and she cheerfully answered my many questions about the technical processes of what she was doing as she worked. I'm so glad I found her and I will 100% be going back next time I need my hair done! Thank you, Ruxandra!!!
