Just checked this place out after noticing it open a couple of months ago. All I can say is-- THIS PLACE HAS BUNDABERG GINGER BEER!!!! After coming back from Australia/NZ, I thought I would never be able to have Bundaberg again unless I shelled out another $1800 for the trip down under. I even tried making my own ginger beer but nothing tastes like Bundaberg (I've had ginger beer from the Caribbean and from the UK). So you can imagine how psyched I am to find this down the block from me. (OK, I didn't really look too hard in NYC but lugging a 4 pack to Brooklyn every 2 days isnt practical anyway).
Aside from the ginger beer, this place looks really cute. I used to live next door to it when it was a very depressing dimly lit bodega. Now it's a really happy and cheerful, organic, all-natural, and regular grocery store. The prices aren't too bad. I was expecting over $10 for my imported ginger beer, and smoked salmon. But the prices are actually normal (the smoked salmon cost almost the same as Trader Joe's, and I paid more for Bundaberg in Sydney). I also dig that they have Barbara's natural snacks for the same price as Cheetos. They have an attractive produce section, but I haven't checked the prices yet. The only thing is, I'm not sure this area is as gentrified as they're anticipating. So there aren't too many people in here. It's definitely gentrifying, but waiting a year or two for it to get to that place might mean that they go under. Who knows though? I could buy soda from them everyday if that helps.
If the owners of this place are reading. Please try to get Schweppes' Agrum zero soda (from Europe) or if that's not possible Polar's diet Dry Orange soda. That would make my life complete. I'm clearly a...
Read moreI ordered via uber eats, although 2 items were sold out, they really came through for the items I REALLY wanted/needed and for that im grateful! I live so far away from everything and when I have to travel with my toddler it’s not ideal so Thank you very much.
1month Update: So, Guess once they’re sold out via uber they don’t update app. I spoke to someone, they do pick up the phone at least, but they have 2 different types listed in uber as “in stock” same price. They cancel every time I order so Idk. Very inconvenient. Sure they will know exactly what this review is about. They offered something I literally cannot get unless I travel an hour to Brooklyn junction and I refuse with my 2 year old & I don’t even use Uber eats for anything else anymore so not angry I’m just extremely annoyed. Deleted the whole app and waiting for my dad to travel 2hrs to bring me what I need. All around inconvenient but at least it was good the first time around so 2...
Read moreI like this place. The employees are friendly and recognize me even if I haven't been there for a while. They offer lots of produce and health food. I am also happy they offer lots of frozen vegan food options and they change it up every now and again which has me trying new things. I love that they carry Amy's products, especially the soups. It's one of the few places nearby I know I can come to and they offer such a wide variety. I don't drink beer but they offer a large selection of beer it seems, especially foreign ones you may have trouble finding normally elsewhere.
They are a bit pricey and I wish they were open later but it's deff my go to for nearby specific healthy options...
