Sugar Butter Chocolate — Restaurant in New York

Sugar Butter Chocolate is at the top of my list for bakeries in my area. Even though I have certain dietary restrictions, when it’s time for a splurge, Sugar Butter Chocolate is a go-to option for me. I’ve been buying products for them for quite a few years, since before they opened the storefront. I’ve passed by the store, which is very cute, but I haven’t even been in there yet because my work hours don’t coincide with theirs. My husband picks things up usually and he likes the bakery very much.

As for my experience, I’ve often had to order special things online and whenever there were any specific questions or issues that needed to be addressed, Dan has always been extremely helpful and accommodating, a pleasure to deal with.

I generally go there for holidays and I’ve had various hamantaschen, various cookies – all great. Always beautiful and always packaged artfully and with care. Most recently, we picked up a fig challah, which was awesome, new for me and something I could see being a regular holiday staple - and babka as a gift. Ironically, the thing that blew us away more than anything else was their chocolate sorbet. We’ve had it lot of places and it was the best I’ve ever had.

And as a tip for the owner: I found the shop just because I passed by and now that I searched it in google maps to support with my review, I saw the pictures posted here are all focused on big-events cakes, I’d never thought I can go grab breakfast/brunch on daily basis so maybe you want to add some pictures of that too ~ just want everyone to find...

I popped by the place the other day to get a quick small sweet treat, and oh man, did it not disappoint. I got a personal-sized strawberry cheesecake and a matcha coconut ice cream sandwich, and I feel like describing both as “perfection” wouldn’t be an understatement. The textures and flavor/balance of the cheesecake and ice cream sandwich were so incredibly spot on - I had to go back for another cheesecake this week. Also, each time, the folks working were charming & super helpful. I’d definitely recommend checking this place out!! Bonus points for tasty espresso drinks being available...
