Don't believe the 5 star reviews. Most of them are from his person friends/family review boosting this guy.
The owner is a massive jerk. Save yourself from dealing with this dude and go to one of the other stores nearby. Every time we've been in there we have been extremely nice (and I've worked in retail myself and know how it can be) and just looking to purchase something and he immediately starts off asking if we can even afford it, and then continues with attitude for the rest of the exchange. When we say we can and we tell him what we want he tries not to sell it to us, even though it's out on the shelves to be sold. He sells products for WAY over MSRP. Says he's certified but has scalping prices. For several years that we've lived near 86th St. We have been dealing with him because he was what was closest but now that another much better, cleaner, kinder, and more professional store has open nearby we will not be returning, and given that we have referred many people to his store trying to be kind and support a local business we will be ensuring that those people we referred do not go back. Save yourself the headache of dealing with this sad excuse of a business owner and go to literally any other store because it will be a better experience and...
Read moreHonestly, this is the most NY card shop I have ever been too lol. I am a NY native and the owner is just that. A NY Brooklyn man. This shop is the most chaotic, hilarious, and no filter card shop. There is so much product and in terms of prizing the owner was very generous. Today I did the lorcana set champs and even though there was only 8 of us he made everyone make space for us (there was a gundam and magic event) and ripped 1.5 boxes just to prize us out which you rarely get. The owner doesn't sugar coat anything and I have seen that in the low reviews but this isn't that kind of shop. This is a NY shop. Loud, fun, and all about ripping for fun and competitive gain. Come in with cash and talk to the owner he will give you a deal. You don't get that busy for nothing. Show love to this local gem because in this new boom of tcgs and Pokémon madness these are stores that will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was searching the area for some PokĆ©mon 151s and stumbled upon this place. I went in just asking if they had any 151 singles because my buddy and I were missing just a few IRs (1-3). Instead, we got called 'cheap' to our faces. We were basically advised to spend loads of money and gamble on their overpriced 151 products, which, logically, doesnāt make sense. It was almost as if he was offended somehow by the question...but you don't know everyone's situation and there is no justification to warrant this kind of rude behavior. I wouldn't mind spending money, but I rather not with this owner. So yeah, if you want to do business with a VERY rude and disrespectful owner, then be my guest and come here. The name really matches the shop, by the way: 'Brooklyn WASTE.' Lol. P.S. we did end up finding the cards we were missing and with very nice card shop owners. Also at...
