The ambiance can't be beat! Plus It's BYOB, which is really nice because you're not forced to buy drinks. Which is the case in a lot of other venues. Here the tickets are affordable and there's no additional fees so you can have a really memorable night out for a reasonable cost. I loved that not only did they play great music, they gave the back story on the musicians, the local area and if you're not familiar with a song or who sang it you will definitely leave there having a greater sense of it all. Expect to sit at the table with strangers because it's a very cozy space, and they maximize the space. However, that's all part of the experience. In a time when people spend most of their time disconnected from other humans bc their sitting behind a computer screen, this type of interaction is fun and interesting. The owner of the establishment definitely has put her personal touch into the place, and she is extremely welcoming. The architectural details of the home are beautiful it's just a really unique and special place! You feel like a personal guest. My advice is if you want a seat up front, get there early. Push the front door in. It took me a few minutes of pulling to figure out that it's not going to work. Lol!! The bathroom is in the basement. So you will need to use the stairs to get there. Read moreI truly truly loved everything about BrownstoneJazz! This jazz lounge is in a restored Victorian brownstone in the heart of Brooklyn. I finally got to visit for my birthday, and I was blown away! The doors opened at exactly 7 pm, and if I remember correctly, the show started about 745. The vibe is dim grown and sexy, set up with round tables and seating for around 20 to 30 people. You are allowed to "BYOB," and I also saw someone that bought in a pizza pie. They provide you with cups and bottle openers if needed. They also do fish fry after the show, but currently, it isn't an option due to construction. I did see the dining area for it, and it is an elegant white tablecloth setting. The musicians were well versed in their craft and also gave us the history behind each piece they played and a bit of history on the emergence of artists that came from the area. Overall, I must say I'd go back again because I enjoyed it and to show support of such an amazing venue that more people should know about! The musicians played the birthday song for all of us who were celebrating a birthday, so that was special to me as well. BrownstoneJazz,...
Read moreIf Google Maps had 10 stars review score it belonged to this place! What a breathtaking and emotional experience you get when getting to BrownstoneJAZZ . That's an original 1880's brownstone house and the vibes are so authentic (follow the dress code and fit right in). Debbie welcomes you with a kind smile and good heart, the place is warm and cozy so don't be shy to go by yourself and mingle with others - for me it was part of the great experience. The band - ok now we're talking about gifted, talented, hard working musicians who put their souls into this. Feels like you've been taken back in time and getting an authentic magical Jazz performance. I was literally not breathing the entire evening. I've been to many Jazz venues in NYC, but this was by far the most fascinating & exciting Jazz performance and experience I've had so thank you Debbie and all musicians for giving me the pleasure (and also for 'Like Someone Inlove'. Can't wait to visit...
