I was walking down Fulton and decided to try Miss Bagel. Unfortunately, my excitement quickly turned into frustration due to the cashier's rude and condescending attitude.(Cashier with black hair and piercings.)
When I greeted him with a friendly 'Good Morning,' he just staredāno acknowledgment, no 'Hi, what can I get you,' nothing. I went ahead and ordered a cappuccino and politely asked if they had any sweetener. His response? A curt 'We have sugar.'
When I asked if they had simple syrup, he snapped back with an attitude, 'Itās the same thing.' I calmly explained that itās notāthe difference being one is a liquid and the other isnātāand instead of listening, he sarcastically replied, 'Your coffee is hot, so...' as though that somehow justified his point.
At that point, I decided Iād had enough and walked away. Between his sarcasm, need to mansplain, and complete lack of basic courtesy, the experience was just awful. Oh, and by the way, nobody needs a $15 bagel. Save your time and moneyāthis place...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToday I was moved to leave a review because I strayed from my typical order (Caesar salad w/2 dressings) and got the Sunset Park Sandwich and it was beyond exceptional.
ā¢Everyone is always very welcoming to my friend and I when we come in, all the food Iāve tried has been amazing (Japanese Pancakes, All Bagel Flavors, Caesar Salad, Sunset Park, Tuna Salad, Pastrami on the weekends, the cookie!)
ā¢The point system is super cool Iāve actually gotten multiple promos off having my number linked to my orders!
ā¢As well, I wanna give a S/o to my friend w/the glasses who always remembers my order and goes above and beyond every time to make it outstanding. Thereās been countless times that Miss Bagel has provided a great meal for me. Thank you for being a staple for some really good food in our neighborhoodā„ļø

I was the only Black person in the entire cafe and waited 40 minutes for a sandwich and a toasted bagel while literally every person got the same amount of food before me. I understand busyness, but I genuinely wish I was exaggerating when I say every person, including people who ordered after me, got their order first. Even in a reality where there wasnāt bias at play, the optics of this were absolutely absurd, especially considering this cafe is in the middle of BedStuy (a majority Black area). The experience was extremely off putting and it is so unfortunate that a quick breakfast order turned into nearly an hour of being ignored and a mid bagel +...
