Chef Omakase — Local services in New York

Absolutely would not recommend this company to anyone. What was supposed to be a special omakase experience was completely derailed by their disorganization and lack of communication.

While the chef was kind and worked extremely hard to make a nice meal, the experience was severely compromised due to the absence of the server — a crucial part of the service we were promised and expecting. Based on our communication beforehand, the server was supposed to arrive at 6pm so the meal could begin at 7pm. That didn’t happen, and worse, no one from their team bothered to notify us. I had to reach out myself to find out what was going on. The replacement server showed up after 8 PM and lacked attention to detail and had zero knowledge of what had already been served.

Without a server, everyone jumped into action to serve for a large portion of the meal, and there was no explanation or context given for what we were eating — which is the entire point of an omakase experience. The evening felt sloppy, delayed, and ultimately inauthentic.

The company refunded the server fee (8% of the total cost), but that was nowhere near enough. I tried to resolve the gap in service amicably and fairly for both parties but shockingly, was met with zero accountability from Chef Omakase who even threatened legal action after I disputed the charge.

Chef Omakase was a wonderful alternative to spending unnecessary time and money at a traditional restaurant. I decided to throw a dinner party and found Chef Omakase online. It was very easy to use, I just went on the site and chose what food I wanted, the date, and the time I wanted the meal to occur, and the rest was done for me! I was especially pleasantly surprised by the variety of choices I had available to me. I had a few guests who were vegetarian which I had been nervous about, but Chef Omakase provided a plant base menu option. Once I bought the menu, two days before my party, the food was delivered to my house, and I simply had to store it in my fridge till my booking date. Chef Patil arrived a few hours before my party and was very professional and took care of the preparation and the cleanup. For such an affordable price, the food was wonderful and tasted very high-end. I will definitely be using Chef Omakase...

I was invited to a dinner party that cooked by one of the Italian chef from Chef Omakase. The food was amazing! The chef came to the house few hours in prior of the party to prepared the food, and introduced each dish when it was served. So the host was able to spend more quality time with us instead of stuck in the kitchen. Also I couldn't believe my ears when I learned the rate. It's very reasonable !! It was an amazing experience and I can't wait to have this...
