Our group headed into NYC for our usual Christmas visit and happened upon Tartinery Cafe in Olympic Tower when we were looking for a place to sit after Mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral and before the Christmas Show started. What a find! We all had hot chocolate and avocado toast with a pouched egg. The hot chocolate was made and did not come from a "machine", the avocado was not from a package and was very good. We were very happy with our service as well - David could not have been more accommodating, friendly and helpful. We chose table service and he was very attentive and even though it was quite busy, we NEVER felt ignored at all. I suggest Tartinery Cafe at Olympic Tower if you are looking for a quick snack and nice atmosphere. We were very happy and satisfied with our choices and service and would happily go back next time we are in the area! Thank you David for a great experience and great...

Unfortunately, our experience at Tartinery was incredibly disappointing. While the atmosphere and presentation were nice, the service left much to be desired—especially when it came to something as basic as water.

We noticed that other tables were promptly offered tap water upon being seated, but our server never did the same for us. Instead, we were immediately upsold on bottled water without any mention of a free option. When we brought this up with the manager, we were shocked by his response. Rather than apologizing or acknowledging the oversight, he admitted that it was a sales tactic and proceeded to argue with us about it.

It’s baffling and honestly pretty insulting to treat guests this way—especially when the inconsistency is so obvious. A simple glass of water shouldn’t come with fine print or pushy tactics. Sadly, this left a sour taste in our mouths, and we won’t...

As a European that finds it difficult to adjust to the over-processed American breakfast, I cannot recommend Tartinery enough.

Perfect portion sizes, clean, healthy breakfast options with no hidden additives, and it all actually tastes good!

On two separate occasions I had an omelette with a side of avocado, and the side salad that comes with it is actually well seasoned and delicious. The omelette is perfect, no hidden creamer, just good, quality eggs. Their avocado addition is of generous size really good quality, rich flavour. So everything is good quality produce.

The star of the show for breakfast is the Chia Bowl: loved it! Again, healthy, clean, and absolutely delicious.

The atmosphere is calm and quiet, making a perfect place to do some work at, too.

If I lived in nyc, this would be my...

Tartinery (📍Murray Hill, NYC): This French “casual cafe-bar” is a cute spot for brunch, dinner, or even drinks (happy hour Mon-Fri 4-7pm). Serving salads, bowls, coffee, smoothies, and most famously the tartine

I’ve been to several Tartinery locations in the city and this has one of the best views. It’s right next to the gorgeous St. Patrick’s Cathedral, with high ceilings and glass windows. It’s located on the 1st floor of a building and does have a bit of office / mall cafe feel, but it’s a nice, open space. They have table service (it’s not a cafeteria) but there were food crumbs left on the seats, so I’m not sure how well they clean them… I ordered the Smashed Avocado Petite Tartine with a soft-boiled egg ($14.25+). It is pricey for what you get, but the egg was boiled perfectly and nicely presented—and it was tasty, too. If you’re looking for a brunch place in the area and enjoy spectacular views, I’d recommend stopping by.

Tartinery was such a delicious and memorable stop during our NYC adventure. We ordered the Croque Monsieur, Croque Madame, and the Warm Rice Bowl—and every dish was absolutely satisfying. Perfectly prepared, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Service was top-notch and impressively fast, which made the experience feel effortless, even in the heart of the city. But what truly set it apart was the view—looking out at the majestic St. Patrick’s Cathedral while enjoying a relaxed, elevated meal felt almost surreal. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a casual-yet-chic meal with a little bit of magic in the backdrop. 🥖✨⛪️
