PART TWO: Financial Aid: Financial aid is only available for esthetician students although their tuition is way higher, I don’t see how that matters. In-school Inventory: There are no extra materials for us students to use when we’re in class, they have us working on computer desks that have a huge hole in the middle. My teacher would sometimes lend us her own materials and me and my classmates would also spend our own money (aside from the tuition paid) for our clinicals & such. Mailing My Diploma: After all of that money and time spent on school, they sent out a link for us students to schedule a pick up for our diplomas. Once again no weekends available because student services is not there on the weekends. I was told we can request for it to be sent via mail. And they sent me an invoice for $25. So after all the money spent and everything I have to pay for my diploma to be sent to me? Also I sent my initial request for it to be mailed on aug 28. No response for 4 days. I responded again the same day and no response until 5 days later. Online Vs. In Person: My first teacher for the first two months of online first told us to not email her any assignments & made us join a google classroom in which I thought the assignments would be posted but she didn’t post any of the clinicals or homework assignments or anything except for exams. When I asked her to do so she blatantly said no because she refuses to “remind” us students of our responsibilities. We would be aware of our assignments by word of mouth. And whenever we did our homework or assignments we would have no way of knowing she received it, or graded it. Just blindly turning in assignments hoping she was receiving them. Also when we continued in person after 2 months of online, we completely stopped going over the textbook & only focused on the physical aspect of doing nails. No review of what we’ve learned or anything. Exam Scheduling: This was the cherry on top. The school does not help you in the final steps of getting your license. They send you a link with a youtube video explaining how to do it but they don’t help you make you NYS licensing account, they don’t help you schedule your exams, they don’t do anything!! Which is crazy considering that in most high schools they help you schedule your SAT’s and they have a fee waiver as well for the application. This school very much and very obviously caters exceptionally to the estheticians course, and sadly leaves the nail course in the dust. Good luck to whoever attends this nail course! When you attend this school just be aware that the price you pay is simply for the name of Christine Valmy. May Christina Valmy take this review as a...
Read moreI am currently attending this school and to be honest I hate it! I believe that they are very unorganized and in my personal opinion they care more about the money than the education of students! One of my school buddies personally saw Ms valmy checking files herself before students graduation making sure no one owed her hours. They charge 10$ a hour if you did not finish your school on your expected date. Which is also a ripoff. for 6500 I expect more than just glass and pretty rooms so we can lounge in. Theory was a drag, on my start date I was overlapped onto another class of maybe about 9. We were told that in theory we can start anywhere because the course pretty much comes full circle. Which was crap my group that started was lost, meanwhile the class that we were overlapped with was almost done with Theory so we were learning things they were studying for their final test. The teachers are very polite but all over the place. Ms ross talks just a tad to much but she keeps you up and alert Ms tattiana is also very polite but there is nothing extra in our learning I feel like in order to learn in Theory just review your text book, and for Practical all you have to do is real all the 100 packets of handout they give you. I am not saying that this is not a good school. But I dont feel that it is worth 6500. Total rip off I cant wait till I " graduate" what ever that is, a little ceramony held in ms valmys office. Gabriella or who ever that is that only does Payments need to go she does not keep up to her job often have to call her time after time to keep things up to par. I feel that is unfair to have students who start class at 6pm and have no one to speak too about payment because her shift ends @ 430. The other girls at evening cant keep up to cloents let alone the students who come at evening hours. Overall I would never came here if I knew what I knew now. Even the graduating class before me all of them feel the same way. They do not provide with job placement. I really hate that I wasted my money here! please do your research before...

There were moments when I questioned myself, when I wondered if I could finish…but every time, someone at this school reminded me of my purpose and encouraged me to press on. I can confidently say that if it weren’t for the unwavering support of the instructors and student services staff at Christine Valmy, I and many of my classmates —wouldn’t have made it through. The tears we shed on that day were tears of triumph, gratitude, and sisterhood!!!!!!!!!
