D and Q Computer — Local services in New York

To everyone in a tech-panic right now, strolling trough the internet looking for a computer repair service: your search ends here. This is literally the b e s t service I've ever had. And I must admit, I'm usually not the type to write reviews whatsoever. But when its good, it has to be said.

my story short: liquid damage on my 3 y/o macbook. Thought that I had only damaged my keyboard, turned out to be the logicboard. I already saw myself breaking up my savings account to buy a new macbook. (i'm a student in ny for research and internship, so really need a computer) But two days after I brought in my computer, the guy told me that it was only gonna take the replacement of 1 chip... while previous experiences with Apple learned me that logic board damage = up to $700 = buy new macbook. However, not this time. 3 days and $175 later, my macbook is back in its old shape.

I don't trust my tech to most places- in fact, I'm usually the tech guy for my friends and family!

One note to my friends with disabilities- there is a big step at the entrance (typical of old buildings around here)- they do have a push button or call for assistance. In this case, it's a place you basically drop off and pick up, not much to see inside, but they will save you lots of money by keeping your computer alive for much much longer.

When I get stumped, these are the guys I trust to get my laptops fixed or upgraded. The prices are reasonable, and under all but the most complex situations have gotten me an assessment and often the repaired machine typically within 2 business days. They give customers and their tech good care and you never feel rushed or that any question is a bad one. I recommend them to anyone...

Friendly, highly professional set of guys. Shop is frankly a mess, but they were very courteous, very expeditious (24hr turnaround), charged a reasonable price (~$100 to repair a broken hinge and to fix a faulty charging port), and then when I needed a new charger they charged a market-value price, no markup from what I would have payed on Amazon or Ebay. When I got my laptop back I also had the pleasant surprise that they had cleaned it and updated my OS, no charge or service fee.

All in all, maybe slightly more than I would have wanted to pay, but hey it's NYC and it comes with the territory. Delightful guys, a pleasure to do business with, and there isn't a doubt in my mind where I'll be going next time I...
