I’d been meaning to try Pop’s Pizza for weeks. I live just two avenues west, and from the moment I walked in, I knew it was worth the wait. The aroma hits you like a warm embrace—homemade red sauce, oregano, extra virgin olive oil—it’s intoxicating. Their slice selection is both creative and balanced, with something for every mood. Here are a few highlights: • Spicy Veg – cherry tomatoes, jalapeños, caramelized onions, arugula, balsamic glaze, EVOO • Mushroom – fresh mushrooms, ricotta, caramelized onions, arugula, EVOO • Piccante – beef pepperoni, pepper relish, ricotta, hot honey • Burrata – marinara, burrata, basil, hot honey, EVOO, parm My favorite? The burrata square slice. The crust has that perfect crunch—edge to edge—and the texture stays consistent to the last bite. The imported ingredients “pop”, from the creamy burrata to the hint of basil and honey, and the aromatics while you’re eating make it a full sensory experience. I would happily bathe in their tomato sauce. The portions are generous too, but there’s zero compromise on their high quality given the larger size. Pricing is more than fair considering the care and ingredients that go into each slice. The staff are dialed in, and Sal—the owner—is clearly an artisan. You can see the pride and precision on their faces as they prep every order. It’s rare to find that kind of focus at a newer slice shop. Pop’s has the makings of a classic. Easily my favorite new slice in the city—and probably my next meal. EDIT: it was my next meal lol.

If you're in the East Village, you absolutely HAVE to stop by Pops Pizza! This gem truly embodies everything you want in a pizzeria. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the irresistible aroma of freshly baked pizza that instantly makes your mouth water. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a casual date night or a fun outing with friends. The decor has a charming, laid-back vibe that adds to the overall experience. But let’s talk about the pizza! Each slice is a masterpiece, with a perfect crust that's both crispy and chewy. The sauce is flavorful without being overpowering, and they never skimp on high-quality toppings. I highly recommend their classic Margherita—it's simple, yet incredibly delicious, letting the fresh ingredients shine. And don’t miss out on their creative specialty pizzas, which are always a delightful surprise! The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home. Whether you're dining in or grabbing a slice to go, the service is always quick and efficient. Overall, Pops Pizza is a must-visit if you're in the area. Amazing food, great atmosphere, and friendly people—what more could you ask for? I can’t wait to go back for another slice!

If I’m being honest I stumbled upon this spot while walking around the east village. They lured me in cause they were brand new and I’m all about supporting mom n pop and the new the guy on the block. I’m literally in Italy right now and still thinking about that pepperoni with the ricotta fresh basil and hot honey drizzle how ya doin. It was so good that my mouth is still watering whiling being in Italy on vacation. Bottom line is great slice, great service and great experience!

Just finished being on set in #tompkinsquarepark east village and it’s 6pm …have my car and need to head north … #fdr drive was not an option - I’m in the mood for #pizza - we all know there are many options …I’m googling and come upon #POPSPIZZARIA on ave B - I’m reading 5 star review after 5 star reviews - ok then - 5 blocks, beautiful early evening - so a hole in the wall pizzeria - 2 tables for two and 4 bar stools looking out on the ave - greeted by AKA #POP and his partner#SAL a man with the golden touch ..where his dough itakes 2plus days and his magic sauces are tantalizingly seductive…..Pop, Sal and myself are in a spirited conversation .. have I found Nirvana? Sal recommend his #Peoeronislice, #thincrust, the oven consumes more than half the space, #margaritaslice, #plaiinslice, ….3slices in total and savored every bite - there was a steady flow of people - Pops has only been open 4 months - and in my humble long drawn out opinion …#Popspizzaria ranks at the top with some very...
