Dollar General — Local services in New York

It's unfortunate they don't care about the condition of the store. The floors are ABSOLUTELY FILTHY. And they sell mops in the store. The constant roof leaks remain unfixed. So you must navigate nearly a dozen randomly placed buckets throughout the location. Thankfully it's not as busy when just opened. They never had ebough staff for checkouts. Seems like product is stocked and/or shelved ONCE every 2 weeks. Often the shelves appear bare or products are misplaced and left that way for days at a time. Managers should explain how staff can remain busy during slow times by facing shelves, mopping, keeping the location neat and organized. When I asked staff why they weren't at the register (when lines down aisles) they seemed more concerned with busy work but shelves still weren't faced, floors cleaned. Etc. Not sure what they were doing. Item selection is OK, typical assortment. Avoid DG brand foods. They are disgusting. You might as well set you cash on fire. Avoid DG brand and Clover...

Great place and prices. Staff is always accessible and friendly the only phenomenon that is so extra is a recording message "reminding to the thieves that there are cameras recording everything so if they try to steal they will get caught...." they play this recording at a much much higher volume, it almost make people stop for a second to pay attention to the loudness bcuz it sounds like an / emergency /evacuation of the building routine. I would've gave less than a star but u can't do that. The line was ridiculous. And to top it off I don't know who she was but the owner needs to have her go back to training. Very unprofessional. She knew it was busy and she just left the other cashier by himself. Her attitude was un called for. Just plain disgusting. .
