It's been three years since I first walked into Randi's shop and I still can't imagine anyone else working on my hair. Randi remains to be the best at what she does.
My experience with Randi and her team was so wonderful and deeply multifaceted so to describe it all in every detail would leave us here for quite a while. In short: Randi is one of the most skilled, sincere and loving people I have -ever- met. She's a bizarrely caring soul wrapped in the conventional, world-weary wisdom that comes from decades living in the Lower East Side. This means from the moment I called her to set up a free consultation, to the moment I left her salon completely transformed, Randi was a no-nonsense yet pleasantly professional person.
I had dreadlock extensions which meant I was there a whopping 15 hours. Frankly, I've never had that much fun with strangers. Randi and her team were, once again, pleasantly professional and so much fun to talk and hang out with. The salon was very neat, clean, designed to make sure you got the "personal-touch" experience and is rife with complimentary snacks! All-in-all a very comfortable place to stay for a while.
Randi's work speaks for itself, however the website's results are nothing compared to looking at yourself in the mirror with her work on you. It's phenomenal and every day since I left Randi's salon I either receive compliments or just turn heads. No, seriously. Every day. I would understand how people ignorant of dreadlocks would rather go to the local "chop-shop" for cheaper work or brainlessly complain about the price like the fella bellow. But the old adage applies here like everywhere else: You get what you pay for. Despite that, for my entire experience, I definitely feel like I received more than a bargain. Her technique is flawless; she's a smart lady with skill that's been honed with 18 years of experience.
If this sounds too good to be true, just give Randi a call and see for yourself. Approach her with respect and you -will- get it back sevenfold. If you're reading this interested in getting dreadlocks or finding a new stylist/loctician, I strongly recommend you take a leap of faith right onto Randi's chair. You...

My hair was growing like crazy, but due to menopause and not eating healthy, my hairline was hitching a ride! I thought I was going to have to cut them recently, but Randi told me what to do and I listened!! Randi did suggest cutting some of my hair to relieve the pressure. I am LOVING THE NEW LENGTH, but it takes a while before people notice! My hair looks healthy after taking the dead weight off!! Thanks Randi! I am feeling New BRAND!!! YA GOTTA TRY HER! SHES RIIIIGHTTT!
Absolutely love Randi and her great LOVE for what she does. Locing and caring for hair is HER LIFE!! I was about to get my thin locs cut over a month ago and someone recommended Randi. She asked me to PLEASE save the locs and trust her with repairing them. I didnt know what to expect but had nothing to lose. I was so pleased with her care and knowledge of locs, but was double-pleased with the end results!! My thin locs had life and health restored!! I researched the root wrap afterwards and quickly decided to return in three weeks to get them done! My hair was still looking great but I wanted the freedom of not having to WORK to keep them looking good. My thin locs finally looked more voluminous!! Everyone noticed the difference and I always get compliments! Every time I wash my hair, my hair looks great immediately! That patented root wrapping process is worth every penny! She is NOT TOO EXPENSIVE. She knows her worth and the work is long lasting! And she's patient with the many mistakes she sees folk naked while maintaining their locs. Give her a try. You WON'T be...

I will be very honest, she have her professional opinions and she guided me. This was only over the phone. I flew to NYC with my appointment solidified two weeks prior. Randi would not take my deposit until I mailed her my locs, in order for her to able to match my colors for the repair. It was very tense, the mail service was suboptimal. However everything worked out. She sacrificed a special day for me and I am grateful. Happy Birthday Randi!
