I was just working on making an extra wedding photo album for my aunt and looking back on my photos, I cannot believe it was real. The rental included so many things that it took a lot of worry and additional items off our list, which was a concern with many other venues we looked at who only let you use the vendors they selected and we were juggling quotes for flowers, china, linens, lighting, etc. Not worth the hassle! We met all of the most basic & important needs under one roof at the Orensanz (except for the linens) and the 12 hour rental gave us plenty of time for load in and out as well as an amazing party! The sound system is top notch (we are a musician heavy family and this was important to us), the lighting design and technician Roberto absolutely transformed the space. Maria was very accommodating. There was an exhibit up that we admired the day before and they were kind enough to leave up the art we liked to add to the ambience of our artsy downtown nuptials. I grew up in the neighborhood and getting married in my own community and having the flexibility to do things my way was very important to me, and the folks at the Orensanz were very kind to us, invested in our event, and gracious. I know they are under construction right now to shore up some structural issues (it is a very old building), and I hope they are 100% functional again soon! Loved it so much, we hope to return to host a 10 year vow renewal when...
Read moreThe venue where the event took place has a creative spirit and offers an interesting setting for cultural experiences like this one. The concept itself—an intimate flamenco performance—was charming and full of potential to transport the audience.
However, I feel the space could benefit from a few enhancements to truly match the price point of the event. While the artistic intention is appreciated, some of the aesthetic and atmospheric details felt rather basic, which created a bit of a disconnect between the cost and the overall experience.
I’d like to believe the venue is currently undergoing renovations, as there was visible scaffolding outside. If that’s the case, it would explain certain temporary aspects. With a bit more ambiance and visual storytelling, events like this could evolve into truly memorable...
Read moreThe show was AMAZING! That said, the venue was terrible for a flamenco show. The audience couldn’t see the performers from the waist down because of the very crowded “gymnasium style” seating. Viewers couldn’t appreciate the beautiful footwork that is a signature feature of flamenco. Auditorium seating or a more elevated stage would make the experience a “home run”. As a point of reference , I’m 6 feet tall and sat in front one third of seating and saw nothing from waist down during the entire...
