I hate to be leaving this review because the barbers seem like great people. I went in to get my haircut a little over a week ago and saw Eric -- he was extremely nice and chill. I showed him some reference photos (they were of MY hair and taken the day of and day after I had gotten a haircut) like normal. He told me that the reference photos I provided were excellent given that they were of me.
He started cutting my hair, and it seemed to be going fine. Then, at some point, my hair started looking really odd; I didn't think much of it though because I figured that it was somehow going to be fixed (in hindsight, that wouldn't have even been possible because he cut it WAY too short). And then, what felt like out of nowhere, he asked me what I thought. I was literally so embarrassed of the haircut but didn't have the courage to say anything, especially because he wouldn't be able to fix my hair being too short. I was embarrassed and upset and part of me wanted to pull out the reference photo and ask if he thought my hair looked anything like it, but I thought better of it.
Please believe me when I say that this is truly the worst haircut I have gotten in 4-5 years -- for a while, I was paying $15 for haircuts, and none of those were even close to as bad as this one. When I went into work, my coworkers asked me, "What happened?" -- they were joking of course, but it was that level of bad. I thought it would look better after a week, but it still looks terrible -- the sides are somehow too long and the top is too short. It hurts me to know that I paid ~$70 for this haircut because if someone offered me $100 to give me this haircut, I wouldn't...
Read moreI’m incredibly disappointed with the level of service I received from this barbershop. I booked my appointment six weeks in advance, expecting to be seen on May 31st. Shockingly, I received a call on May 30th at 4 PM informing me that the appointment was canceled because the barber was no longer available.
When I asked whether another barber could accommodate me at the same time, I was told there were no alternatives. The only option offered was an appointment a full week later—without any consideration for my schedule or the fact that I had already waited several weeks. I even explained that I was flexible the entire day, and asked if there was any availability after 6 PM, since I work a standard 9-to-5 job. I was told no, in a very dismissive and unprofessional tone.
Not only was no effort made to find a solution, but I never received an apology or any gesture of accountability for the last-minute cancellation. The tone of the conversation was cold and rude, and it was clear that customer service is not a priority for this business.
In all my years, I have never encountered such poor treatment from a salon or barbershop. For a service-based business in New York City, this level of disregard for clients is simply unacceptable. I won’t be returning, and I will be sharing this experience widely. Customers deserve better—especially after waiting nearly two months for an...
Read moreI'm not one to write a review but felt I needed to after my recent haircut. I went in, sat down, and showed a few pictures of my haircut from two weeks prior. I referenced that I wanted a mid skin fade that breaks at two fingers above my ear with about 1/4in off the top while keeping my head more "rectangular" rather than an "oval" (makes more sense in person). Also asked that little is taken off of my bangs which should have been accentuated via the pictures shown. After an hour, I got a skin fade that was three fingers above me ear (although still appealing) and about an inch off the top of my hair with my head now much more "oval." My bangs are much shorter and I CAN NOT style my hair or wear my hair as desired in the pictures shown. My hair looked better before it was cut then after it was cut and I am extremely disappointed. I wonder if the barber even remember what I asked for? my haircut is now very much a different haircut and not at all what I asked for.
I will say that the atmosphere is extremely friendly and welcoming, but my haircut went from being complimented every two weeks to "bro, why did you get it cut like that?" I will say it doesn't look awful, but it is not stellar and my personal confidence was knocked down 3 notches. Time to wait another month or two for my bangs to...
