This place (Edison ParkFast on 35th and 9th Ave) is a complete scam! There was a sign outside that said $8 for 1.5hrs. When we drive in, the attendant (Spanish guy, late 30’s or early 40’s, maybe 5’6”) had us pull all the way in, took the car, and gave us the ticket to pay (which we had to pay before leaving). He told us that there was an “event price” of $45 flat rate. I walked over and pointed to both the sign that said the hourly rate and also the Saturday/Sunday rate of $25 for up to 10hrs (I was parked for less than 4). He said it was standard for everyone all day long and that the prices posted where only for non-event days. But when the lot of in the general vicinity of Madison Sq Garden, when is there a non-event day?
When I came back a few hours later at ~6:30p, the lady in front of me was paying $30. I asked why the price was lower for her and another attendant (black, dark skin, 6’5”+) said depending on how busy it is, they change the event price and since she came at a different time, it was $30 for her but at the time we can, it must have been $45 (he wasn’t there when we parked the car). I again pointed to the prices posted and the Spanish attendant said there is a “big sign” right out front. I asked him to show it to me and he said “they just changed it because the price was $30 now). I asked him to show me that because I didn’t see that either. Magically the sign was gone.
This feels like a classic bait/switch scam and it’s deceiving. I wouldn’t be surprised if the attendants were charging customers higher rates, ringing them up as $25, and pocketing the difference either to evade taxes on the other money or just to steal. In either case,...
Read moreCaution: If you have to use this lot, make a 'reservation' on the website & have the confirmed rate in print or you will be scammed! Made a reservation online & received a confirmation email for yesterday 7/15 (Sunday). The website & posted signs in the lot clearly say, parking is $25/day on Sundays. When I dropped my car off, I confirmed the $25 price with the parking attendant, multiple times. He even asked his co-worker (in front of my family) & the guy confirmed $25 for 10 hrs. 2 hours later, I go to pickup my vehicle, give another guy my ticket & he tries telling me it's $35! So I explain that we were quoted $25 & this guy tried telling me that because I dropped my car off in the morning & now it's the afternoon, my rate changed... I left the vehicle at 1pm & picked it up at 3:30! I find the original guy & his buddy who confirmed the $25 rate... These 2 clowns totally denied that told me it was $25 & then proceed to try to tell me that the website is wrong! Meanwhile they also have a sign posted in the lot that says Sun $25- up to 10hrs! So I keep arguing with the guy, saying I'm not paying $35 because it's posted in the lot, plus, I was quoted verbally & in the email for the $25 rate. Finally, when I pull up the email & show them, they magically change their tune. The new story was, "Oh! Because you made a 'reservation' we will honor your rate! It's a good thing you made a reservation... That was very smart..." blah blah blah-I know BS when I hear it. I have no time for that. I paid my $25 & will be sure to park somewhere else next time I'm in the area....
Read moreTonight was an absolute disaster after the Sebastian Maniscalco show at MSG, Friday 9/20/24. There were only 2 people to get the cars at the lot at 451 9th Ave.. No one in the office to handle any questions. The automatic machine that you had to use if you prepaid did not recognize the tickets that you had to take when you entered the lot. There was no one to help the customers use it correctly. It seemed that the machine did not recognize that certain people had prepaid and asked for full payment again. When the customers asked one of the attendants, he yelled at them and accused them of not paying. The other attendant would just ignore the people and run to get the next car. After spending 20 minutes in front of the machine trying to get it to read the QR code, we finally were able to type it in from the ticket and have it accepted, but it took numerous attempts where the machine would just start over. Then it took another 40 minutes for us to get our car to get out of there. There were still many people there begging to get their cars as we left. We actually spent as much time in the parking lot as we did watching Sebastian at MSG. Edison should know when there are shows at MSG and staff their facilities adequately. This was ridiculous and completely disorganized. And although I know that the two attendants were overwhelmed, someone at Edison has to know that the customers don't like to be blamed and accused of lying and being told the only thing to do is to pay again. Disastrous and ruined our evening and many other...
