I went here based on other reviews. They do not have a current health rating and that made me super nervous. But so many ppl said it was good so I went. It’s a cozy little spot. I ordered a lychee Thai iced tea and it had so much sugar in it. Having this throughout Thailand it didn’t even taste authentic. It was just sugar and juice. Other than that when I go out I try to drink water more than any other drink, however, the water was BROWN. It wasn’t the reflection of the table because when I sat down it was bright out. The water was clearly brown. I just chalked it up to it being city water and didn’t touch it. I ordered shrimp pad Thai and at first my only complaint was that they put sugar in it. It tasted sweet but it wasn’t bad, it was okay. As I ate, there were some cold bean sprouts, a slice of radish and a slice of carrot on the side of the plate that I mixed in. When I moved the carrot there has a fine black hair at least 2.5-3 inches attached to the carrot. I was so disgusted but I already ate 80% of the plate. So I closed my plate and placed the hair in a napkin and placed it on top. When the waitress came for my plates I told her and she said “okay.” I wasn’t looking for a free meal because I ate it BUT an apology would have been the decent thing to do. I then waited about 7 minutes to get my check. I paid and left. The location is cute and cozy but don’t be surprised by extra sugar and hair in your food. 🤢

Update: to correct the management teams rude response. My hair is not short. That was the woman next to me. Next time treat customers with respect and common decency and at least apologize for your wrong doings. As to my experience with Thai cuisine I do many service trips in Thailand furthermore there is a difference between a sweetened beverage and one the customer can taste the sweetener in segments of the drink showing it wasn’t fully stirred. It is appalling to see a management team mismanage their business. I do not care what you tell your employees to do. The fact is she did not say anything to me but ok. As a management team your response should be “we apologize.” Your math is also the farthest from the truth. If I consumed 99% would mean I did not leave anything but THE HUMAN HAIR YOUR STAFF PUT IN MY MEAL. When I did not eat anything once I found the hair. Maybe your cameras failed you yet again.

Throughout your comments if the customer has not been pleased you attempt to berate them. I will not engage in such behavior especially when it is your business that FAILED. You are truly deplorable and your management skills are...

Unfortunately our experience here was very poor. The food was not good and the ingredients tasted cheap. Fried Rice was dry and duck soup was salty and had almost no meat. The service was abysmal! Not only did I have to call the server over 4 times to bring essential items like utensils, napkins, water, and sauce. But they even forgot to bring us our drinks. They even had the audacity to charge us for the drinks that never came. When we brought it up to them they only offered to take the items off and only offered to bring us one small beer. We asked to at least bring us the drinks and they refused. They only offer a desert called sticky rice mango. It was literally only rice and mango slices… Moreover, I passed by this spot at least a thousand times. And finally decided to try it. Well I should have kept it that way and kept walking by!

Response to owner and updated review.

Thank for letting your entire customer base know that I went to the restroom twice. The first time I went to the restroom was when I arrived. The second time was when I was occupied with the food. Moreover, it’s not my job to remind you to bring me the drinks. I ordered with your server who inputted it into a computer. So no room for error since it’s not like your server forgot right? There could be so many reason why I didn’t say anything about the drinks. (Also, I didn’t look at your bartender weird? Looking at the bar is weird to you? I’m a curious guy) Maybe I thought it was customary to bring the drinks after the meal? Or Maybe I forgot about the drinks? Or Maybe I didn’t want the drinks anymore since they never came. Either way, the drinks didn’t come and they never came. Maybe you should take a class on hospitality and should have reviewed the bill before bringing it to us. Also we were the only patroons there without water or drinks. We felt like a ghost at your restaurant. It was so hard to get a hold of your servers that even one of your other customers saw us trying to get your server’s attention and they went out of their way to get your server’s attention to come help us…. Lastly, in conclusion you are wrong. There is no sense in coming here and responding with this pettiness of a response. You really think we were taking advantage? We just wanted our drinks. You didn’t even bring the lychee Martin OR the jasmine tea. We didn’t order ginger! Also when you offered the desert finally. We wanted fried rice. Yet you couldn’t accommodate that either? And brought us rice with mangos……. Just an overall terrible experience and we wish you...

I've visited this restaurant multiple times for dine-in with groups, and my earlier experiences (in early 2023) were positive, with good food portions and quality. However, their takeout service has been consistently disappointing. Orders are frequently incorrect—missing the right protein or portion size. Delivery drivers often demand specific tips and create unnecessary scenes if their expectations aren’t met.

The real issue, though, is the owner’s attitude. They are shockingly unprofessional and hostile toward any form of constructive feedback. Rather than addressing valid concerns, they resort to making false claims and attacking customers personally. This behavior is completely unacceptable and reflects a serious lack of accountability.

It's worth noting that their ratings have dropped significantly—from an impressive 4.9/5 to just 4.6/5—and yet they refuse to take any meaningful steps to improve. Instead of addressing legitimate complaints, they continue to dismiss feedback and lash out at customers.

I strongly recommend spending your money elsewhere. There are far better Thai restaurants in Manhattan with respectful management and reliable service—Reddit has some excellent recommendations. Zoob Zib simply doesn’t make the cut, and no one deserves the treatment this...
