I give this place a 2 only because of the clean environment. Compared to Russian nail salons they are very overpriced for the basic services they offer. I was told to provide the nail design of my choosing via photo so they could have their only advanced nail tech SAM review to see if she was able to duplicate the work. I asked her for clarification purposes if she was sure that she could accomplish my desired look only because I wanted her to set proper expectations with me so I wouldnât be disappointed. Instead her response was â I hate when clients bring a picture of some magazine nails and expect techs to do it.â After this comment no rebuttal as I knew that would be my last time visiting this nail bar. I got gold chrome tips with 3-D design. The overall look and outcome was accepted and much appreciated. This was done on a Sunday by Monday morning. All the gold was coming off on Tuesday I decided to visit the location,So that they could touch up the gold that was missing a lovely woman that said she was the manager decided to assist me in restoring the missing gold Chrome. While doing so on the very first nail, she accidentally got some of the gold chrome on the 3-D. Design on my nail so to avoid this from happening to additional nails I simply said to her the Gold Chrome was not supposed to be on the 3-D parts, luckily the advance Nail tech Sam was graciously walking pass and decided to specifically stateâ that nothing is done perfectâ. No rebuttal to her comment was needed as I knew the inside of this nail bar would never ever see me again. Btw between hand and toes this experience cost me $198...
   Read moreHello,
As a licensed nail technician, I rarely get my nails done elsewhere because I know what proper nail care should look like. But on June 27, I was preparing for a trip and decided to treat myself while in the area, so I stopped by Flatbush Nail Barâa salon that looks beautiful and high-end from the outside. Unfortunately, this is a prime example of not judging a book by its cover.
When I walked in and saw the chic aesthetic and pricing menu, I was genuinely excited to receive a quality service. I was greeted by a kind, older tech who didnât speak much English, which wasnât an issueâbut what followed absolutely was.
The first red flag was the lack of sanitation. She pulled out a used set of implements from her backpack, which is a direct violation of NYS regulations for nail services. When I requested new, clean tools, she did comply, but this shouldâve never been an issue in the first place.
I requested a builder gel fill-in with a solid color and one nail repair. The result was unacceptable:
My cuticles were cut, red, and sore The shape was off, and there was no apex structure, especially on the repaired nail The finish looked rushed and uneven
To make matters worse, during the service I felt incredibly uncomfortable. Other techs were openly laughing and pointing at me and my technicianâcompletely unprofessional and very off-putting.
For a total of $110, I left with damaged cuticles, a weak structure, and a bad experience. I never write negative reviews, but I had to speak upâespecially as someone in the industry who knows what safe, quality service should look...
Read moreWasnât Really satisfied with the nail service, came in for a French tip pedicureâa style I get regularly and know exactly how itâs supposed to be done. I told Teach who was doing my toes from the beginning that my natural nail wasnât long enough and that I typically get an acrylic base to shape the tip properly. Instead, the tech completely ignored that and gave me a sloppy paint job with no structure whatsoever.
I even had redo it once because it looked nothing like a French tip. Still came out just as bad. I ended up speaking to the woman at the front, and she admitted theyâre ânot trained to do acrylics.â At a NAIL SALON?? Then why offer French tips if youâre not trained to do them correctly??
I paid $80 for a service that was poorly executed, and completely unsatisfactory. I ended up going back to my regular salon literally after they close Which is Coco nail salon 2 blocks from where my tech immediately noticed the mess and had to FIX what they did and it looked nothing like what the first person did which Iâm confused how itâs a service you guys are doing .Everyone should know how a French tips suppose to look like . This is my last time coming in.
This place might be okay for basic polish, but if you care about quality, proper technique, or even getting what you paid forâgo...
