Firstly, I must immediately state that, “ I stan Yardie Q!” This is a long review but worth it.
I initially entered the food court in search of another establishment but they were closed. The gentleman (Damian), in front of YardieQ was pleasant, open and seemed willing to serve. When I approached the counter, Damian(sp), shared their options, have me a very detailed run down of the menu and insisted that the sliders were a good option.
We discussed my apprehension to eat at a food hall, my dismay for the beyond burger and eventually settled on the coconut shrimp protein that came with the herb slaw. He also gifted me some kind of breaded sweet plantain fries (not on the menu and not the name of the dish), to try…10/10! The coconut shrimp was delicately fried and seasoned well. You were still able to enjoy the succulence of the shrimp with the combo of the coconut batter. I was pleasantly surprised! The plantain fries, were so yummy! I love plantain and will also choose the regularly fried plantain but this was a great option. I enjoy the plantain fries so much that I would probably order this over fries with a slider, any day! The slaw- 10/10! It was my favorite. Now, o must share my disclaimer that it’s heavily loaded with carrots and if you’re allergic or not a carrot fan, skip it. The slaw was seasoned to perfection- I LOVE A BURST OF FLAVORS and the slaw served! The mint, cilantro combo is a plus! I also tried the jerk lemonade mocktail, which I also enjoyed. There is a pepper kick, but it’s good!
Lastly, I had a small tasting of the ginger, carrot ice cream…DELICIOUS! Again, not for the non- carrot lovers. The carrots were hardened and sprinkled on top…WICKED COMBO.
ALL IN ALL, GIVE THEM A TRY! I am very particular and I’m so glad that I stumbled upon a spot in the community that serves authentic yummies for the palate. AND! The chef in the back and Damian, are a treat! You can see that they both love and enjoy why they do and want you to experience that joy and love with every bite. Damian is an excellent conversationalist and excited to be in the community. Again, I stan. Try ‘em out! I don’t eat meat but they want to hear your reviews. They really aim to please...
Read moreYawdie Q offers a refreshing new spin on Caribbean cuisine. My order consisted of a coconut shrimp slider, plantain fries, herb slaw, and a lemonade, and everything was seasoned to perfection.
The coconut shrimp was incredibly crispy and delicious. It was paired with a flavorful herb slaw and a tangy sauce that complemented the shrimp beautifully. This was my first time having plantain fries, and they were a delightful surprise. They were crispier than your average plantain and packed with bold seasoning. The herb slaw was a standout both on the slider and on its own. It was crunchy and bursting with vibrant flavors that tied the meal together. The lemonade had a surprising kick to it; its spiciness was invigorating and sure to wake up your taste buds.
Now, let me talk about the customer service, which deserves a special mention. When I first arrived at the food hall, I was unsure where to order from but needed Wi-Fi to get some work done. I asked Damian who owns the spot for assistance, and he helped me without hesitation, providing me with the Wi-Fi details. His willingness to assist made me want to try the food, and I’m so glad I did. He offered great recommendations, and his friendly, professional demeanor enhanced my overall experience.
I recommend this spot for both the fantastic food and the...
