Just another staggeringly expensive terrible NYC grocery store. $16 eggs? $9 for half a gallon of milk? That is essentially an insult to the customer, especially when both can be had for half the price a couple blocks away. Foodtown took over another market i used to frequent in a different location and ruined it also with ridiculous prices and much worse selection than previously. Also, old and expired goods for these prices, as you can read in other reviews. Hopefully, more consumers will wise up and punish these greedy equity scoundrels by withdrawing their business. I have. These markets are predatory and can’t fail fast enough for me. They are all lousy.

Taking advantage of a crisis and pricing your eggs $19,99 for a dozen and a half is really sad especially for a local store that their main customers are the neighbors!! Will never step foot again in this store again

Got Hawaiian buns from this foodtown. The package says expires 31st of October, food is covered in mold and I found bugs inside as well. I will try to ask for a refund.

Really excited to have a Foodtown much closer to home, been making last minute runs for dinner- super fast and easy. They have this customer suggestion policy that I was really looking forward to, but it never seems to be applied. The recommendations my husband has made due to lack of variety in certain items, never seem to be ordered and put out on the shelves, like they claimed it would be. At the grand opening, there were so many options to choose from, but it seems like they have reduced their choices, especially in the bread section!! Whenever I want to stop by in the mornings after I drop off my kids at camp, I look forward to bringing up my concerns to a manager, but the manager on shift never seems to be around. The cashiers call out for them and even ask fellow coworkers to help search, but they can never really be located in times of urgency. Very disappointed!! I’m on the verge of three strikes, but I have hope for this store since it is a strong addition to the community. Hope to see improvement soon, as well as...

Went to this new store in the neighborhood. Many of their prices are higher than our local market on Montague.. to give them a chance, bought some of their in-house, pre-prepared food, and fresh meat. They were all good! About a week later, returned for a maki roll tray, and one of the ready made foods I had before. Couldn’t find it, asked for help. A manager promised to always have the kitchen make it, as obviously- it sells! I returned yesterday… couldn’t find it… another manager called the kitchen person out- who assured me he would make a tray, and I can pickup tomorrow… STRIKE TWO… I called today, the woman who answered checked for me, and said no, there isn’t any.. STRIKE THREE! I told her I’d leave this review, and if the new store builds up CONSISTENCY, and not falsehoods.. I’d change/update this post. Very...

Beware of rancid food and deceptive pricing at this grocery store.

Incident 1: I bought a bag of frozen pork dumplings, and the entire bag was rancid. Not a single one was edible — absolutely disgusting.

Incident 2: Tried to buy a box of popsicles, only to find out at checkout that the real price was 30% more than what was tagged. This wasn’t the first time either — I live nearby and have seen price discrepancies regularly. When I brought it up to the employee with a chin piercing, he shrugged it off with a nasty smug attitude — no apology or assurance to flag it to management, or take any sort of action whatsoever to rectify the matter. If the staff can’t fix incorrect price tags, who can?

Bottom line: This store inflates prices on mediocre products and hires unqualified, unprofessional staff. Shop here at...
