2023 update: This hasn't been my best year dentally speaking. Had an implant crown placed by Dr. Yoo back in 2020. Unfortunately, the holding screw broke off inside the implant two weeks ago. Dr. Arsen Murdakhayev was able to remove the broken screw from the implant, and also slightly widen the inside of the crown so that he could reattach it with a larger screw which will hopefully reduce the chance of this happening again, and also the chance of the screw loosening up, at least not for quite a while.
Soon after (and unrelated), I found out I had cavities in the two teeth just above the one that had been repaired, and would need crowns on both. Dr. Arsen referred me to his colleague Dr. Solomon who is also at GD Dentistry, as he's considered the "crown" specialist. This was an extra tricky situation because both cavities were very close to the root, yet I came out the other side without needing a single root canal, and with two perfectly fitted Zirconia crowns using their latest state-of-the-art 3D scanning technology. I was even able to keep the mold of my teeth as a memento!
Needless to say, I highly recommend the dentists at GD Dentistry for performing excellent work at a fair and reasonable price!
2020: Last year I needed an oral surgeon to replace a broken tooth with a dental implant. Just as I was about to decide on an oral surgeon, I came across Dr. Yoo. Besides all the great reviews, Dr. Yoo appeared to have at least as much training, experience, and expertise, if not more, than the Manhattan-based oral surgeons I had considered. His office also has all the latest dental tech, and is conveniently accessible via public transportation.
During a complimentary consultation, Dr. Yoo evaluated my case and offered very reasonable, straight-forward pricing that included the tooth extraction, bone graft, implant, abutment, crown, and multiple 3D CT scan.
From there on out, everything was smooth sailing, and Dr. Yoo and his staff, Elena and Ruben, meticulously went out of their way to assure I felt comfortable every step of the way. Expect the whole process to take at least 6 months. In my case, it took a bit longer due to the covid lockdowns. I highly recommend anyone needing a dental implant to consider Dr. Yoo /...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI visited their office for the first time and they seemed disappointed that my X-ray did not reveal cavities. Additionally, upon examination, they told me that they suspected I did have cavities after all. The dental assistant used a sharp probing instrument to scrape an area of weakened enamel and did not find any decay. They complimented me on how well I maintained by teeth and tried to convince me to drill my teeth to do a filling. Drilling causes structural damage to your tooth and removes health tissue along with the damaged tissue so I refused. I went to a laser specialist who was able to avoid drilling and placed a biocompatible filling. The second dentist confirmed that had they not scraped off my enamel a filling would not have been necessary because there was no decay. Had they explained what they would be doing, I would have refused as incipient cavities can be reversed. A fluoride varnish or some curodont would have fixed the issue. I cannot confirm or deny any ill intent on their part, as this type of behavior is very common amongst dentists both because there is monetary incentive to encourage patients to have more work done i.e. suggesting root canal instead of filling or having general dentists push orthodontics etc and because they are often taught an aggressive drill and fill style of dentistry. I want to reiterate, there is nothing that was technically done wrong other than not disclosing what would be taking place during the examination; however, I do urge patients to take the initiative and always get second opinions on any medical care but especially teeth because at a certain age, you don't sprout any new ones. If you're told you have cavities, make sure you check with someone else...

Frustrated and disenchanted with the poor level of care I was receiving from my general dentist and his shoddy workmanship, I began a search for a dentist who could resolve my dental issues permanentlyāand competently. I found Dr. Murdakhayev and my prayers were answered.
From the moment I entered his office for consultation, to the completion of his work, the experience has been immaculate and exceptional. He took time to explain my condition and how he would resolve it. I never left his office feeling ignorant or unsure of how things were progressing. He placed 5 implants, and the process over the course of 4 months was seamless with little pain/discomfort. If there were any adjustments necessary, I was always scheduled quickly for resolution.
I am now in my third month with my new teeth; there are no issues and I am happy with the results. Did I mention that he worked with me in the price? Iād rather go to him than to my managed care dentist who I donāt have to pay out of pocket for. That says a lot. Whatever your needs are, especially implantsāDr. M is the...
