Giulia Love Salon — Local services in New York

I could’ve written this review the day I walked out of the salon, but since it was my first visit and I had quite a bit done—half head balayage, root shadow, color gloss, and a cut—I wanted to give an honest, thoughtful review after living with it for a while.

It’s now been six weeks since my first appointment at Giulia Love Salon. Why the delay? Well, I originally intended to wait two weeks before submitting, but thought I hit submit—so here I am!

From the moment I walked in, admittedly nervous, Giulia greeted me warmly, even though she was with another client. She let me know she was running behind, but I didn’t mind waiting. Once it was my turn, she really took the time to listen to my concerns. I have fine, wavy/curly hair and have been blonde for over 30 years. Unfortunately, I’d recently had a bad experience at another salon, ending up with three mismatched shades of brown that I absolutely hated.

Giulia patiently listened as I explained what I wanted, and I showed her photos. She gave me her honest, professional opinion about what would and wouldn’t work. Then she said the words: “Trust me.” That wasn’t easy—but I decided to trust the process.

And I’m so glad I did.

Giulia is truly a master of her craft. She took her time, carefully placing the right color in just the right areas to enhance both my face and cut. Throughout the appointment, we talked, shared stories, laughed, and at one point—I even cried. I felt so emotional because she made me feel genuinely comfortable and cared for. She offered me a glass of wine, which I happily accepted. It was a long appointment, but it felt like time well spent.

Something to note: Giulia does everything herself. She’s the front desk, the colorist, the stylist, the one applying toner, shampooing, conditioning, blow-drying—every step. So yes, her prices reflect the personal attention and expertise she provides from start to finish. And frankly, it's worth every penny.

The result? An absolutely stunning cut and color. We took a "before" photo, but got so swept up in the transformation and the good vibes that we forgot to take an "after" shot—something I truly wish we had, because her work speaks for itself.

If you're looking for someone who genuinely listens, understands, and pours her heart into making you feel like your best self, I can’t recommend...

I was so nervous because I’ve had some traumatizing hair experiences in the past, but after an extensive search, I found her and I’m so glad I did.
