I had high hopes for the New York Subway, but my experience using this transportation system was an utter disaster. First of all, the trains were frequently delayed, and I found myself waiting on the platform for extended periods of time without any information about when the next train would arrive.

When the trains finally arrived, they were often overcrowded, making it difficult to even board. The air conditioning on some of the trains was either non-existent or so weak that it was barely noticeable. On hot summer days, the trains felt like saunas, and I was drenched in sweat by the time I reached my destination.

To make matters worse, the subway stations were dirty and smelly. I saw rats scurrying across the tracks on multiple occasions, and the smell of urine was overpowering in some of the stations. The lack of cleanliness made me feel uneasy and unsafe.

Additionally, the subway maps were confusing and difficult to read. As a tourist, I found it challenging to navigate the system, and I often found myself getting lost or taking the wrong train. The lack of clear signage and announcements made it even more challenging to find my way around.

Overall, my experience using the New York Subway was terrible. The frequent delays, overcrowded trains, lack of air conditioning, dirty stations, and confusing maps made it an unpleasant and stressful experience. I would not recommend this transportation...

The Grand Central Station and the Grand Central Terminal are two distinct hub of trains which are interconnected on 42nd street between Lexington and Park Avenues in Manhattan, NYC.

The Grand Central Station hub is a New York City Mass Transit Authority (MTA) subway system having two major lines. The East Side Lexington Avenue line and the West Side Broadway line.

These two subway lines are connected by the "S" train on 42nd Street

The Grand Central Terminal is a hub for the Metro-North Railway trains also consisting of two major lines. The Metro-North Hudson line and the Metro-North Harlem line.

These two railway lines connect in Grand Central Terminal and on 125th street.

Like anywhere on planet Earth you must always stay alert and aware of your surroundings. Otherwise, it is perfectly safe to commute or simply travel...

A very crowded underground terminal with a low roof, so if your taller than six feet, be careful. Much unlike the Metro North level, which is spacious, art deco and relatively clean, the MTA section is overcrowded, dingy, and even the elevators smell like something died in a pile of old coats smothered with 15 year old vinegar and dead body hair (which is oddly specific for a smell). The platforms are always thin and crowded, characteristic of a major terminal, but almost everywhere is covered in indescribable muck. However, I gave it a three star review because the platforms are very clean and service is consistent, plus there is easy access to the Main Grand Central Terminal. There are even occasional acts in the mezzanine, so it's not a total...

Completed in 1913, Grand Central Terminal – more commonly, if technically incorrectly, called Grand Central Station – is one of New York’s beaux-arts beauties. Adorned with Tennessee-marble floors and Italian-marble ticket counters, its glorious main concourse is capped by a vaulted ceiling depicting the constellations, designed by French painter Paul César Helleu. When commuters complained that the sky is backwards – painted as if looking down from above, not up – it was asserted as intentional (possibly to avoid having to admit an error).
